As luck would have it, we had to visit both stores today. And as usual, Enzo came with us.
First up , was Lowes. The first worker we saw, was a woman who loves Enzo and always greets her with a treat. My husbands idea was to put Enz in a cart.. She is still only 45 lbs and fits fine. We thought maybe, having her on a cart, they were less likely to ask us to leave.
We asked the worker about policy and she did say there were rumors about banning non service dogs. She said she had not been told directly and planned on " looking the other way" when she saw dogs she knew. We proceeded through the store with any number of employees stopping to pet Enzo. At one point...we thought, ok, here it comes...the Mgr. approached us. LOL....he just wanted to pet her! Never said a word!
Next up : Home Depot. There too, she was approached by numerous employees and shoppers. Her picture was taken twice that I know of....one by a dad taking a pic of his little girl hugging Enz in the cart. Saying he needed to show his wife so they could talk her into a dog. Our 10 minute run into the store , took us over an hour. DH miffed he missed part of the football game.
So thus far....shopping in the two stores, for the time being still ok...at least here in San Diego.

Love your update Ro and nice to know they greet Enzo with friendly hellos and treats!  Ok, I am jealous I will admit it!   LOL  How could you not resist petting and taking pictures of Enzo?  Fun for everyone including Enzo!

LOL...I swear, when we leave the stores, she is grinning from ear to ear! And she is always up for a Kodak moment ;)
Here in Chapel Hill, NC. dogs are allowed in Lowes but not the Home Depot in Durham, NC. RThe Home Depot 15 miles away in Hillsboro, allows dogs. It seems to depend on the experience the store has had with dogs.

Not in Riverside!  :-{

We are in the Midwest and rural, our local Rural King stores allow dogs and that is where our trainer helped Meg learn to behave on leash around people.  We still take her in and go through the routine when we have the chance.

So sad - dogs not allowed in Lima, Ohio.

That's awesome...so nice you can take her with you.  We take Ellie to as many places as we can...she goes to every one of our son's hockey games...everyone at the arena loves her!

Awwww...a hockey mascot! I am sure she puts smiles on many people's faces!
They allows us at our lowes in New Mexico too. They know Brisby by name. I started taking him at 10 weeks for socialization. They are getting to know Jake and will meet Pickles soon. So sad that some Lowes no longer allow this. The owner should have been in control of the dog and the parents should have supervised and been in control of their child. :(

I shop at Lowes all the time with my Doodle, this past summer during a heat wave the store manager asked if I needed a bowel of water for Mojo. I'm in upstate New York.

So glad you can have fun and go in these stores! I would be taking mine all the time! Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in our local HD and Lowes.
