It's beyond sad. With all of the media attention to the issue of puppy mills, the saddest thing is how many people still don't know where pet store puppies come from. Maybe we need a puppy mill reality show.

Yes, sad. We keep sharing but sometimes I think cute puppy + low(er) price + immediate gratification = denial.

I meet so many people who are so proud of their pet store pup. When I gently try to tell people where it really came from mostly they argue that it isn't true for their pup, so I try to inform people who are interested in getting a dog that they must avoid the pet stores.  Tammy, the problem is if we let ourselves get those pups who need a home, we are perpetuating puppy mills.  We must withhold our money.  It kills me to think of all the shelter dogs being euthanized - those babies need a home too, but we can't take them all.

Absolutely breaks my heart. That is one of the main reasons I went joined a dog rescue. Education is so important & much needed.
