I was just thinking, and my apologies if this has already been done in the past, but I thought it would be really fun to create a DK cookbook with favorite recipes of all our DK members.  All the proceeds from the book could go to the Doodle Rescue Collective.

Actually a section for dog recipes in a people cookbook would be a fun idea. And we have lots of tried and true treat recipes for doodles. And a dehydration section and a raw and cooked food dog recipes section. Yup , dear Kate will be a busy girl....LOL

Hi, I put together a recipe book for the rescue I volunteer with to sell at their christmas bazaar. I actually still have a small stack to unload. I am not going to lie, a lot of the recipes were taken from the DK cookbook group, but more from random online sources, so this is not kosher at all and the recipes aren't 'original' recipes... not sure if there are any implications there.

i should state that it was A LOT of work to pull it all together, but I had a deadline I was working with so I just gave her my all for about a week and managed to pull it off. Just to note, that it is not easy, and if you want to do it right you'll need more time to reference your sources and maybe test the recipes to ensure they work...

I have a novel idea. Open a "closed" group containing all the recipes. So they would be on line, easy peasy. Then charge people to join the group. They could print out the recipes they want to try.

I like that idea, F.  I don't need any more printed cookbooks and I find using the computer much easier and faster.  

BTW- I would be happy to contribute recipes, as well.  I have an old blog with vegan recipes that are illustrated.  Would be great to get our photographers involved as well.

I think this is certainly something that can be done as well, but we did want to have an actual book to be able to buy as a fundraiser.  Hopefully people would buy for themselved and as gifts, as well.  I think it's 2 separate ideas, and certainly I am not adverse to having both.  As there is already a recipe and cooking group it can certainly be done in conjunction with those groups.  I will run all this by Adrianne and Kate to see what they think, as well.
