I am a one week owner of a 4 month old "double doodle."  I live in the East Valley area of Phoenix, AZ.  I have never had to find a groomer and from what I have read and heard from many, many doodle owners is that it isn't easy to find a groomer who knows how to groom a doodle.  Is there another doodle owner in my area who could recommend a groomer?

You may want to join the Arizona Group. They may have a better handle on a search for a groomer. Just type in Arizona in the DK search for various groups.
There is also. groomers Group...may find some help there, as well.

We spend 2 months every year in AZ (Cave Creek area).  I have a friend that lives there and she has been using this groomer since 2007.  Villa La Paws 602-442-7833.  A groomer that actually listens to what you want - at least in my experience. But when I give someone instructions,  I always ask them to repeat back to me what I want (but then I even do this with my regular groomer if I ask for something specific - just so we are all on the same page.

It is a great place..no cages...the dogs roam all around until it is their turn.  Also  there is a fabulous consignment store next door...clothes, housewares and an Italian Bakery.  Take a friend you will have a blast there!

I took Charlie and Beau there on separate occasions in 2013 and 2012, and was very happy with them - plus I had a blast at the shop next door it has household goods, furniture, and more upscale than any consignment shop I have been in!  The bakery and coffee was a special treat and they have chair, sofa, etc where you can sit and read or whatever.   If I lived anywhere in the Phoenix - Scottsdale area, I would drive to this place.  I enjoyed it and so did the doodles and they looked and felt fabulous. I did have to spritz them a bit so they were not so fluffy, but that was not a problem for me.    They also have a website:  www.villalapaws.com/phoenix.az.shea

Hi Jeanne, I live in Chandler, cross roads are McQueen and Queen Creek. My daughter has been bringing their 6 yo doodle and now 1 yo doodle to Dippity Do Dog, 2040 S. Alma School Rd. www.dippitydodog.com They both always look great and have never had a bad cut there. They do a LOT of doodles as our area is pretty concentrated with doodles. You will also want to check out Paseo Vista Recreation Park on McQueen. There are 2 dog parks there, they are well maintained and at any given time of the day, there is usually a doodle or two, or five or six there. I used to organize the Arizona Doodle Romps there, but life got very busy with two dear grandbabies the past 2 seasons. We've had more than 12 doodles at just about every romp. lots of fun. NO matter what park you take him,Of course you will want to wait until all vaccinations are completed. I have 2 doodles and I groom them myself so I don't have any personal references for you other than where our daughter brings hers. I hope that helps. You can PM me if you would like to meet up at the park sometime and let the doodles play.

I would very much like to meet up at the park.  Not sure what PM means but please email me and I'll give you my phone number.  Thanks.
