Advice needed! Will this puppy have a loose wavy coat when it ages?

You guys have been so helpful!!! Can tell me if you think her coat will remain loose waves or if it looks like she might get curly and look quite poodlish. Also, she is red now but will that probably fade?  She is an F1 (white english retriever and red poodle) as I am hoping to have the shorter faceframe and wavier look.  I need to make my decision tonight!

THANKS!!!

Rose, when did you notice the final coat? Bob is only 8 months, but I thought we were getting close to his adult fur. So, I can expect another change in a month or so?

I'm afraid I'm didn't really pay much attention to Molly's coat changes, I just tried to keep the tangles out it.

Enzo is 8 months. She looks as tho someone drew a line around her mid-section. Front half, is what I think/guess, is her adult coat. Back half is puppy coat. It s slowly working down her back. What the future holds is anyone's guess! ;)

Same with Miss Beasley, however if the front half is the adult hair and her groomer said it was just  the other day then her adult coat should be beautiful !!! As for this little red puppy, it's pretty curly to be so young, I think it will keep them as a adult ~ and I agree it wont matter if I woke up tomorrow and Miss Bea was slick as the lab, I'd love her just the same :) this is 6 weeks to 6 months ~

This method is not 100% foolproof. One of Enzo' s sisters had very wavy coat ( but not as wavy as Enz's) as a young pup, including her head. Today, at 8 months, she has a much tighter coat, which includes her head. Looks like a completely different dog!

The goldendoodle I nannied in college also had that happen. He had a coat similar to Ragley's as a puppy and now has tighter curls as an adult

I love the name, "Ragley".  lol

Thanks, Rose! She is named after the street my dad grew up on! Everyone always says it suits her perfectly, but the gender neutral name definitely doesn't help with her being called a she rather than a he!

We deal with the same thing. Everyone always assumes Enzo is a male.

Poor Enzo and Ragley. Good thing Ragley is a bit of a tomboy so she probably isn't too offended. She wrestles and tumbles with the best of them

LOL....nothing " delicate" about tin little girl! Enzo takes it all in stride, as well. After all...guys call their cars " She" all the time. She was a great hit at a carshow this weekend. Had her pic taken with more Ferraris than I could count!

Well, I'm sure glad Molly decided to cooperate.  :)  I wouldn't have described Molly's puppy head as "very wavy", just not curly or kinky, if that makes any difference.  Was Enzo's sister's head hair silky to the touch?
