Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

After so much distress and loss of our Poodle in December, we are choosing a new puppy this weekend. We are 4th pick out of 8. I am so nervous about making the right choice, these puppies, like most every puppy are so cute! I can't believe how fast they have grown. We are the last pick for the day and I'm worried that we won't get a real view of their personalities. Temperament is really important to us, given what our family has been through recently. I have expressed this to the breeder who states both parents have good temperaments. How to make such an important choice? Any advice?

See attached image. I did not know how to make it show in the discussion.

There is some good  videos online on how to choose the right puppy. First what are you looking for in a puppy? Then there are these "test" that you do on the puppy. Ex. hold a few inches off the floor is the puppy still or wiggle. Still tends to mean he has trust, wiggle tends to mean he is more independent and doesn't warm up to new people right away. And the puppies are all very very cute! I love the curly fur!

Thank you so much! That really helped. I watched so many videos. I used many of the techniques today and we officially picked out our New Puppy Harley! The entire family agreed, but was also prepped on some of the things to look for when we were trying to make our decision. Thank you again!!!
Your welcome! I can't wait to see pictures of Harley.
