OK, who is staying home tonight with their doodles? It is about an hour to 2009 here on the East Coast. What one thing would you like to see happen in the new year?

I'd like to have a litter in 2009
Since the boys were little, we have stayed home on New Years Eve. We used to have a celebration about 8:30 when they were really little. Now they are big teenagers, it's a lot more low key. DH with the TV. Boys on their video games and me, I'm on DK. Doodles are laying by my feet and it's 23 degrees outside. I can't think of a better way to spend the night.

I hope the New Year brings good luck and good fortune to everyone here and lots of doodlehugs and doodlekisses.
We're home with our doodle, who wouldn't calm down at all tonight, and actually frustrated me quite a bit. We planned on watching a movie, but that was a blow-out.
In the new year I would like to see all fears of a recession ease, I would like to see wars cease, and see world hunger solved. A big order, hunh? :)
On the home front, I would like Toby to grow into a lovely, semi-mature dog that behaves well and allows me to relax in the evenings.

Hudson and I are home. I made him and I a special dinner tonite - different meals but both special. We just came in from a walk around the neighborhood looking at all the Christmas Lights and peaking in at party windows! Hudson is now sound asleep and I just poured myself a glass of wine (that's actually another one)....and I will say woohooooo to 2009 in about 10 minutes.
What would I like to see - there is so much going on in the world with money problems, people losing their homes and jobs, too many young men and women giving their lives overseas, too many wild animals losing their habitats, too many kitties and pups in shelters or being abused, too many starving children.......on the worst day of my life I feel I have absolutely no right to complain about anything - am I living the life I wish for? no, but it is a life that is still far more blessed than many others. So tonite, I wish for love and kindness to go out to everyone and everything on this planet and have the faith that tomorrow will bring better things for our wonderful world.

Happy New Year to my new Doodle Friends......Wishing you all the very best in the New Year.......
The clock just struck midnight here in NJ, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
We are home - cooked a nice rib sticking dinner for DH and Samantha. Watching TV, here on DK and the 3 of us are snuggling. Can't wait till 1201 to go to sleep.
My list for wants for 2009 is long:
health (a big one here)
happiness for my daughters
prosperous business
peace in the Middle East
raised awaremnes, legislation and education for animal rights (just watched tapped 2 hr DogTown about Michael Vick's dogs)
I would love for Samantha to settle down, just a little, for her to pass her test for therapy dog.
Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!!
I am home tonight with Jackdoodle, my daughter & grandson. Jack is having a hard time with the area they tested, it is inflamed, and he's agitated & uncomfortable, so we're trying to keep him distracted. I haven't gone out on New Year's Eve for many years, even when I had a significant other...too many drunks on the road, lol. I have a nice glass of champagne here in my hand.
In 2009, of course my number one wish is that Jack will be better, and be able to live a more comfortable, happier life. I am very optimistic about this...and my friends here on DK are the ones who have and will continue to help me achieve that, I know...especially my dearest Lynne...who I think was maybe my sister in another life, lol.
And then I wish that there will be big changes in the laws concerning animals in this country, and that the corporations will no longer rule over every aspect of our lives, and that people's health and illness will no longer be a "for profit" business run by "shareholders", and that everybody's retirement accounts will get back up to where they were in 2007. How's that for a tall order?
And last, but not least, I hope that every one of you has a year filled with health, happiness, love, and laughter...and great big wet Doodle Kisses. Happy New Year, my friends!!!
Wow, that really is a tall order, sister! Jack will be better in 2009, I just know it.
I just got home it is 11p here. I have to work in the AM.That is why I had DH take me home.
I do not mind I spent my 20's as a bartender....I am over drunk people and New Years. To many years severing drinks.
2009
I want to drink more water less Coke. That is my only one. It was also last years. I just love Coke. Not diet Coke, full sugar Coke has my heart.I wish water tasted like Coke.
One great thing....I hung up my DK calendars!!
Happy New Year Everyone!...It's 3:00 AM and I just ditched the BF!...lol...Now I'm going to hit the hay with my real boy friend!....LOL.....The Blakester....
Happy 2009 everyone! The DH & I went out for prime rib (yum!) with a friend & came home to walk & snuggle Oski in that order. With his injured hand we didn't want to deal with crowded spaces & tipsy people.

I wish that everyone--individuals, governments, corporate entities,...would take 5 seconds every time to think about the other side before they speak or act. Maybe some kindness & empathy will be able to sneak through.

DK is a great place to share & feel supported. If the rest of the world had an outlet like this maybe we'd all get along better, no? :)
I did not, but wish I did!! Next year - FOR SURE!!!
