I'm unsure! I'm leaning towards pet plan..

These were my top two choices as well. I did end up going with Pet Plan though. I have been very happy with them. I almost had to file a claim because when my aunt was watching Cally she ate a head band but I did not realize what it was and she was just vomiting undigested foods so I called them on my way to the vet and they said everything would be covered minus my reimbursement and deductible, so it was very reassuring! They even called the next day to see how things went! I never ended up having to file anything since Cally puked it up in the waiting room but it was comforting to know I could do whatever was possible and not have to worry about the money.

He chose Healthy Paws & that's what we have too.  We've had only one claim (we insure both dogs) & there were no questions, they paid quickly.

I haven't bought mine yet because I'm too indecisive between these two as well. When I was researching, healthy paws was the top rated but a lot of people here seem to use pet plan and really like it. 

This is definitely an issue I will be resolving soon though because just a couple of weeks ago Ragley was having digestive issues and diarrhea and I had no idea why. I think it was just stress and the problem is totally resolved now, but I definitely had an "oh crap" moment as the possibilities of what could be wrong ran through my head and I didn't have the comfort of knowing that financial issues wouldn't be additional stress to me worrying about her well-being.

I think pet plan has a referral program though so, if you decide to go with them, ask a member on here for their code and share the benefit!

I did not. Honestly only because she was TOTALLY normal other than the diarrhea. I did a day with no food to let her bowel rest, then 50/50 chicken and sweet potato for a couple of days, and then slowly started mixing her food back in at each meal. On the day without food, her stool already started to firm up so thst was encouraging. 

Sorry if that's TMI, but just so the info is out there if anyone else has the same issues! That course of action worked really well for us

Being a dog owner is all about TMI!! I was just going to say if she went to the vet for it some insurance companies could consider it a pre exsisting condition! Get that baby covered!

Which is another reason I got so nervous...one of the hospital systems I'm applying to offers pet insurance so I'm waiting to hear back from them. As soon as I get a job, insurance is a #1 priority!

I went with pet plan, for me in Canada petplan and truepanion where the two best, the only difference being the cap, and reviews were good for both. Petplan is quite a lot cheaper though.

I'm no expert since I'm a new puppy owner, but I did a bunch of research and then asked my vet. Based on these things, I went with Petplan and feel really good about my decision!

My vet says she loves dealing with Pet Plan as they are the most accommodating and easiest to work with.

check to see how much the monthly goes up bumping it up to 90 percent covered. It may seem silly to do for just 10 percent more coverage but it adds up quickly if you ever have to use it.
