As all of you know California is having a drought and we need rain badly. Today in the Central Valley we finally got much needed rain and it did not stop all morning!  In fact, it poured for eight hours without stopping.  I found out one thing, I have a sissy on my hands and her name is Libby. I guess she does not remember what rain is since it has been so long.  She absolutely would not go out to do either of her jobs!  At first when we got up at 6:00 am we thought she will get over this and the next time she just looked at us like "why are you out here" and refused to go.  As the day goes on I even stood out in the middle of our yard (getting soaked) thinking she would go out if I did. She all the while is sitting under the patio watching me with a “head tilt”. Probably thinking, my mommy is crazy.  So now I am getting worried because she has not done anything since 10:00 pm last night.  Wow, I have a little princess on my hands.  The look on her face was "no way, no how"!  So once again we came in and she bounces in like she has done something so perfect and wanted a treat!  NOT  Finally at 2:00pm it stopped raining and we took her out and she did both and came in so proud!  She hates rain and will NOT go out in it! What would I do in the snow???  I see all of your Doodles back East having a wonderful time and our little girl is afraid to even get wet!  Do any of your Doodles refuse to go out in the rain?

One day when it was raining my husband decided to let Riley out by herself. I said " are you crazy?" He said "stop worrying, she'll be fine." He eventually goes out to look for her and finds her digging in the mud. Guess who got to give her a bath. (It wasn't me. :-))

How funny and those paws definitely tell the story!  I found in the past when they do something like that, you just can't get mad because they are so darn cute when they look up at you like nothing is wrong.   Riley is a cutie with clean or dirty paws!

We don our raincoats and walk in the rain. Lucca and Izzy are like little kids chasing the running water down the street and looking for puddles!!!! We're in Northern CA and are sure enjoying this. It's been WAYYYY too long. We haven't had rain since mid December.

Yes, it has be way toooo long and I'm very happy about it.   Libby not so much!   LOL   How cute that your Doodles love to walk in the rain!  I love the rain coats they have for dogs now, very stylish!

Oh Libby, you are too cute! I once had a cocker spaniel who didn't want to go out in the rain and we actually had to hold an umbrella over her so she would go! Jack and Jilly don't seem to mind. In fact, Jack seems to love the rain. He'll go out and raise his nose to the sky and just sniff, as if taking in all the wonderful earthy scents that come with rain. His way of stopping to smell the roses I suppose and he's taught me to enjoy it too!

Janie, we actually tried the umbrella "thing" and it scared her to death!  I know, we do have a sissy/princess/ spoiled baby on our hands.  We opened it up and she flew back into the house and hid!  Sounds like Jack loves the rain and all that comes with it!  I'm jealous:)

Libby was totally scared of umbrellas when she was young, but she's more used to them now.  I also got her a raincoat but it's too big so I think it scares her....

Robin, because of our drought we have not used an umbrellea in ages and that new foreign object did her in! LOL  Hopefully we will get to use it more and she will adjust:)  That is "if" we get more rain!

Lonnie - of course there is one East Coast doodle that does not do rain......and her name is Libby Louise!  Sometimes I don't know how she holds it in.  Mary Ellen (Libby's mom) calls me several times a day to tell me how many times she has opened the back door for Libby to go out in the yard, but she just sticks her head out for a second and then turns around and looks at Mary Ellen like, are you kidding me?  But the funny part is that when I go over after work and say to her, do you want to go out? - she runs to the back door and goes right out to do her business.  Mary Ellen calls me the Poop Master, LOL.  I think it's because when Libby is at my house, we go for walks because I don't have a yard, so she associates me more with the specific task at hand.  Of course Mary Ellen walks her everyday when the weather allows (and it's been way too icy here for any long walks), but Mary Ellen now has a complex.  :)  Libby doesn't love the snow either - she'll run around in it at the beginning but then decides it makes everything too difficult, from walking to finding a place to pee......oh, our girls......

Robin, there we go again, it's a Libby thing!  Our girls are something else and must be relatives along the way somewhere!  The Poop Master, love it!  LOL   As for snow, no clue when it comes to our girl, we are lucky to even get rain!  I need to take her up in the mountains one day, but knowing Miss Prissy Paws it might not be a good thing!  I really need to get this girl out in the "big" world.  LOL

That is so cute!

Quincy is an all weather dog- but these last few days have not been easy for him as we have about a foot of snow that has a thick ice crust-he slides all over and then suddenly it cracks and he goes down.  He tends to prance back to avoid as many steps as he can.

Spring where art thou?

Whoa!  Libby should not be such a baby about a little rain!  I can't imagine being in all that snow, but I will say I love looking at all the photos of the Doodles playing in it!
