New onset seizure
I'm new to this forum. I'm happy to be here.two nights ago my doodle Gatsby, who is 4 years old, had a sudden grand mal seizure that sent flying off the bed into the floor in a violent way. I was horrified. The seizure last 5 minutes. He sees the vet in the morning. Does anyone know if this is a common problem in these dogs? He's so friendly, smart and playful! I'm broken hearted like crazy about him being afflicted with seizure. It's just not fair!

Thank you for going to the trouble to give me the link. So far Gatsbys doing well again! Paws crossed!

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to Gatsby, and I'm glad he's doing better right now. Thinking of you!

Gates yes doing better! He's back to chasing squirrels and bubbles in the yard! Thanks for your kindness.
I'm sorry you had to go through this too. Five minutes is long but Gatsby appears fine. He did not quit breathing but his breathing was shallow for 1-2 minutes during it. The lack of oxygen is damaging to a brain after 3 minutes and more. This brings up a point. It's important for a pet owner to know how to do CPR in case your dog does stop breathing. Fortunately this wasn't needed in Gatsbys case. Whew!

My parent's dog had these. It was so scary.  I don't know much about it.  Brinkley had a seizure after I gave him Trifexis.  The vet denied that it was linked-- but two months in a row hours after taking his dose, he had them.  I stopped giving it to him and they stopped.  Just thought I'd mention it just in case your Dood is on it.  Good luck.  I'm so sorry.
