Well, My little Rue Rue has pink eye!!! How do dogs even get that?!
I took her to the vet yesterday and we got some antibiotics to put in her eye. It looks 10X better this am than it did yesterday morning.
I also had the vet check her incision from her spay last Thursday. I noticed a slight bulge directly under the incision. The vet said it's fluid build up from her being active. He said he does not want to drain it for fear that sticking a needle in it would cause an infection. He said it would go away on it's own within a month and we hope that we can get the stitches taken out March 1. If the fluid build up has not gone away, the stitches will stay in longer :(
Has anyone else had experience with this type of thing?

I'm sorry to hear this and hope that Rue's conjunctivitis clears up quickly with the meds.
Here is some information on "how dogs get that", lol:

The most common causes of conjunctivitis include bacterial and viral infections, allergies, hereditary conditions, and tumors. Conjunctivitis may be a secondary symptom of another eye disease.
Bacterial infections that are not associated with another condition such as keratoconjunctivitis sicca ("dry eye") are rare in adult dogs. However, puppies can have bacterial infections even before their eyes are open.
Specific causes of conjunctivitis include:
I'm going to pretend that that post didn't just freak me out. I am also going to pretend she contracted conjuctivitis from a hair that was in her eye and caused irritation.
Boris had surgery before Christmas and developed a similar build up of fluid at one of the wound sites. I believe it's called a Seroma. In his case it was very big and needed draining, it did refill up continually but eventually it subsided to a smaller size and it did disappear of it's own accord. This took about two weeks. I hope this answers your question.
THANK YOU! I hope it goes away on its own, it looks quite silly. It doesn't bother her though, so I suppose that's good. I hope it disappears completely and doesn't sag. I'm glad Boris is better :)
I was also wondering if it could be spread to humans...and vice-a-versa. It appears it can!

Making my eyes just itchy reading this!
That was the FIRST thing that came to mind after the dr confirmed "pink eye". I blurted out, IS IT CONTAGIOUS, as I swear my eyes were burning and itching. He laughed and said no, not this time.
WHEW! lol (My eyes are fine now.)
LOL - we all do it!
