Haley got a new stuffie on his Gotcha Day (1/8/2014). It was a very "tough" toy. Here are the remains:

Time to bury this one.

He had so much fun with the stuffie, as you can see, not only dissecting it but parading around with it and shaking it while growling that I just had to get him a new one. It arrived yesterday.

While Haley was outside I took the tags off it and placed it on the floor under the kitchen table. Haley came inside later and checked it out but left it alone. He did this occasionally for a couple of hours. After all it hadn't been "given" to him so it wasn't "his". Finally I did give it to him.

After an hour of "loving" the stuffie the comb was off the head and the "brains" revealed.

This tough toy will not last long either.

For all of you who are concerned, Haley is supervised and does not eat the dismembered parts. (Knock on wood.)

Anne ~ your "Bad Boy" is so cute!  I love that second photo - he looks quite content with what he has done!  Our standard poodle had so many stuffed toys and never chewed them (just carried them around).  Charlie enters the picture and he is the same, no chewing.  Beau has been in our home 16 months, and there are no longer any stuffed toys around (at least none with stuffing actually still in them)!  Our only savior has been that he does not swallow anything he should not!  Do the Fluff and Tuff toys have squeakers in them?

I love that last photo of a happy Haley and what's left of his stuffie. We have the same kind of stuffie remains here!. I've tried every tough toy made and nothing survives! Christmas puppy is toast!

What a sweet, sweet boy! That face! Sooooo smoochable!
We have endured our fair number of chewed stuffys as well. But Enzo just likes to chew off appendages....legs, ears,tails...
We did find these: http://www.amazon.com/Brown-Rabbit-Extra-Tough-Toy--/dp/B00B7RRXBO/...

They make a few different animals and various sizes. We have the rabbit and penguin. These things are well made and weigh a ton! But so far...are all intact.

Thanks Ro.  I'll check it out.

same toy/same results...but done by my  10 lb doodle..

should send it back, but have no time

also happened to a  dog toy advertised as tough and in seconds it was torn apart

Good job, Haley!  You showed that rooster who the boss is, didn't you?  Enjoy your well earned nap, sweet boy!

Bailey does the same thing to any soft toy she gets her mouth on.  She loves them (to death)...we have great fun playing toss and tug and let her chew for a while but all the softies are safely put away unless she is supervised!  Lots of ragged and chewed critters in my closet!  :>)

All the dogs here do the same thing. Tear them apart and try to get the squeaker out, then pull all the "baby guts" (that is what we call stuffing in this house) out. The two older dogs will not use people stuffed animals. Ruston on the other hand is always grabbing my winnie the pooh. She likes to carry it around and snuggle with it. I am glad there isn't a squeaker in it or it would be dead and I would have "baby guts" all over my house. I use the cheap toys from Walmart sometimes.
