Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Both dogs needed updates with their vaccinations, but I had separate concerns with both as well. Earlier this week Lucy had been holding her head cocked for about 1-1/2 days, and would shake her head slowly off an on. Her ears looked perfect with no visible signs of infection. Oscar has been drinking a LOT of water the past couple weeks. He's always been a big drinker, but lately he's been finishing his water dish by the end of the day, something he didn't do even in the heat of the Summer. Consequently, he pees a lot as well, and often (every 2 hrs). After today's vet visit it was determined Lucy had a very deep bacterial ear infection and was put on antibiotic drops. Oscar had his urine drawn with a syringe straight from his bladder and the results won't be back until Monday. Its possible he may have either a UTI or diabetes... or nothing at all. Further tests may be needed depending on the outcome of the urinalysis. He exhibits no other symptoms other than drinking and peeing a lot. I'm hopeful its just Oscar being Oscar, but I am a bit worried.

I hope Oscar is okay, and glad that Lucy got on some drops to help her ear.
Oh Debb, I'm sorry to hear this. I hope Lucy's ear clears up quickly and Oscar's test results come back with something minor and easily treated.
Thanks Karen and Julie. I'll update as I learn more.
Hoping for the best for both of your doodles.
I hope you get good news from Oscar's test results...the ear should clear up pretty quickly with the antibiotic.
I am glad that Lucy's ear was diagnosed. I hope Oscar's tests come back with something minor.
I'm sorry to hear this - I hope Oscar is okay and I hope Lucy's ear heals soon. Thinking of you guys!!
Hoping all goes well for both Lucy and Oscar.
Good news! Or, at least relatively good news... Oscar has a UTI, not diabetes or something more serious. So, an easy fix with antibiotics for a couple weeks. Again, thank you all, for your concern!
