Cally is getting spayed tomorrow!
I put her into daycare today to get some extra energy out before those dreaded two weeks of rest! The daycare was great and made sure she was drinking plenty of water so she would not be dehydrated and I am doing the same.
I talked to my vet and they said they will definitely not make Cally stay the night if that is not my wish so that is great news! I do not have to find a new vet. Lol, but really! I have to drop her off between 7:30 and 9. I decided to let my mother take her since I have to be at work really early and it is probably best because she would be able to sense how nervous I am. They are going to call me before and after her surgery and when she is ready to be picked up. They are going to make her the first surgery ( at my vet they only do spay/neuter surgeries on Thursdays) that way they can keep an eye on her for the day. My favorite and her favorite vet techs will be there tomorrow so I am really happy about that!
Please send some positive thoughts that the surgery goes well and that I am able to at least keep her calm for a week....maybe the weekend. :)
Here is a current picture of Cally and her new bandana that just arrived today! Lauries niece made it! I am already ordering another one for Rosey!

No, you want to space the yogurt out as far from the antibiotics as possible, too. The live cultures in the yogurt are the same good bacteria as the probiotics.
Im glad that Cally is OK, the worst is over and now is time for Love and healing....
Cally You are so cute!!!
Okay another question! Cally usually gets two Kongs a day with different things in them. They always have yogurt in them though. My question is should I hold off on putting yogurt in the Kong while she is getting the probiotic since they are essentially doing the same thing? I do no want to give her to much of a good thing! Or is it okay to continue the yogurt in the Kongs while still giving the probiotic? I left out yogurt in her Kongs yesterday evening and this morning because I was not sure.
Also Cally has actually been very good and not getting to crazy! Although the little stinker keeps trying to get to her stitches. Although I put a cone on her at night and while she is in the crate when I am not home I am trying to keep it off her during the day, and she wont try to lick them or anything anymore because I correct her every time. Her new way of trying to itch her stitches are using her back legs and kind of maneuvering them to itch her incision. Is there anything I can put on it or around it to help with the itchiness?
It won't hurt her to get her yogurt while she's on the probiotics. JD takes a human probiotic that contains 225 billion live strains of bacteria per dose. It's pretty hard to get too much, lol.
I like cortisone anti-itch sprays for dogs. They're easy to apply without touching the area, dry quickly and aren't greasy so they don't get rubbed off. You can get them at most pet supply stores.
Well then I will continue the yogurt Kongs! I was very close to putting a disclaimer saying please do not respond coconut oi,l because if I was looking for that answer I would have posted it on Facebook :) I will head out in a little to go get some! It will be great to have on hand for the future I am sure! Thanks again, Karen for always answering my questions! :)
Is it okay to put on the incision or should I just put it around it?
I'm not sure about using it directly on the incision, it might sting.
And LOL to the coconut oil comment. :)
I put it around and it is working! Thanks!
Daycare here she comes! Glad all is back to normal. Have fun Cally!
Yay!
