Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
My doodle has never shed at all in his whole life (he'll be 4 years old next month) but in the last few weeks I've seen a few little tufts of hair that he's lost. He got groomed today, so I'm hoping maybe it was just because he was way overdue for his haircut, but I figured I'd just see if anyone else had experienced anything like that. He's also due for his annual vet visit soon, so I'll probably ask the vet, but I'd appreciate any insight from other doodle parents too. Thanks!

This happened to one of ours when he was very sick but you would know it if your doodle was sick. He recovered and the shedding stopped.
Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. He's not acting sick at all, and has had all normal pee/poop, etc. I'll mention it to the vet and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks!
When I groom my doods I find lots more doodle dust bunnies for several days after. I think, at least in my case, I need to blow off their coats once the groom is complete to rid them of loose hair.
It was in the week or so leading up to him being groomed. I'd find a little curl here and there and one little ball. There's usually some extra hair right after he gets groomed, but I had never seen anything like that. Luckily he's acting completely healthy so I'm not too overly concerned. I'm wondering if the full winter coat and changing temperatures had something to do with it. I just worry so much about my little dude.
If its concerning, you may want to check with your vet. I know nothing of canine skin problems, other than yeast infections (which Lucy had once), but I'm sure there are lots of things that could cause the kind of 'shedding' you describe. I know what you mean about worrying about these guys. They're pretty precious.
Christine, Libby does not shed, but right after she is groomed we see little "fluff balls" as we call them. It only lasts for a couple of days.
