I have a question. The spay/neuter is total of $500 with microchip. Is this the right price or over price? My puppy getting done sometime in May. Thank you.

I just paid $305 yesterday in the Washington DC metro area, so that seems high. My regular vet was around $300, but I received a cheaper price through a local spay/neuter organization that offers discounts with participating vets. My vets price did not include microchipping, but the $305 total reflects an increase over the base price because they also microchipped him at my request.  Most pricing also varies with the weight of the dog..mine is 55 lbs. Look up the local animal rescue league on google and ask what they charge, and also google your county and "spay/neuter program" to see if you have any similar services.

I looked into Zeuterin shots which were substantially cheaper ($135), but my vet talked me out of it.

I'm home with my puppy today and he's recovering fine.

I am glad your puppy is home. :)
She will be 5 mos old next month. I took her when she was 4 mos old and weight 27.5lbs.
It depends on where you love. For me in Cincinnati it was 250 not including a chip as Cally came home with one. The fact that you are in NJ makes that more understandable. Maybe call around to other vets in your area and see what they charge. That's the only way to get a real idea if that is expensive for where you live.
Thanks

I'm not sure about standard prices where you are. But in Ontario that will be pretty much what I'm expecting to pay. I'll also be doing the microchip.

Just make sure the $500 is all inclusive (surgery, meds, pre op, post op, the collar of shame, etc) If there are more fees on top of the $500 then I think it's overpriced.

Everything is including.
That is WAY over priced in my opinion. I am in Southern California. I priced about 6 different vets before I got our doodle. The highest was about $300. I chose a well known vet that would charge about $200 for everything including microchip. My husband still gawked at that price and found a place that is called Critters without Litters. I was not going to take my baby to a new place that I didn't know anything about. I asked everyone I knew in my community and also asked my Facebook friends their opinion about this organization. I got nothing but praise for it. I did have Safiy (our doodle) neutered there. The total cost for pain medication, micro chip, overnight stay, AND they flushed his right ear was $111.00. They checked on him the next dat after I brought him home. He was completely healed and back to himself within 2 days! Most importantly he was a happy guy when I picked him up! I hope most importantly you find a place that will do a good job but does not cost so much! Good luck! By the way- your pup is adorable!
Thank you :)

In Massachusetts it's around $400 for spay and the chip is $50 so it sounds pretty close to me. I should note that this is with my vet, I know the ASPCA will do it for less, maybe closer to $200

Thanks
The microchip is $35 and it's including with $500.

It seems high to me. I think the cost for this is closer to $400 at our vet if you don't purchase their annual pet plan, which we plan to do. That will bring the price down to $275.
