Hey guys! Sorry for how gross this will sound.

I took Kona to the vet yesterday for shots and she was totally fine, but this morning she started having loose stools, which then turned into complete diarrhea. Nothing has changed in her routine to cause her anxiety, however, I did start upping her feedings a few days ago. Could this be the cause? I'm concerned because her stomach has gotten sick twice in the last hour (after she ate).

Thanks for any help!

I'm in the same boat as you. I think Cally may have picked something up at daycare or it could be her food change but I am running her by the vet to get a stool sample as her poop is to mushy to bring in one. Keep us updated! I have had her on sweet potatoes and chicken for the lat day and a half but I want to rule everything put before the weekend comes and my vet is closed.

Oh, hope Cally is feeling better soon!! Keep us updated!

Thanks, I will definitely keep everyone updated! There is just so many things it could be something from daycare, her flea and tick stuff, something from out side( this past week she has gained full access to my back yard, her new bag of food, so I just want to rule that out because that is the easiest way to get a stool sample and see if it is something. I'm prepared if it is Giardia, I have been giving her probiotics this past week every day, I know only use panacur and she has been on a sweet potatoe and chicken diet for the last two days. I bought a new bag a food just in case that is it too. I feel I am prepared as I could be!
You could also keep her poo picked up and put some diluted bleach in a spray bottle to spray the area. We had a dog visit us the other day, he had some nasty poo, so I picked it up and sprayed the area just in case.
At the vet now, not my normal vet at this clinic and he was very surprised that if the test is positive that I refused metro and insisted panacur. He said depending on how the test comes out he will give her a cortisone shot and endosoeb? Are these okay or should I allow the cotisone and just say I will give a pepto or an antacid instead? Kare, lol?

NO no no to the cortisone shot; you never want to get a steroid shot except in an emergency. If she needs cortisone, get it in pill form.

I am curious why you say this Karen?
Well sh**, she has it! Got panacur. Refused metro. I have probiotics. Have been bleaching where she poops. Will continue sweet potatoes and chicken. I think my blessing in this is that I trained her to go poop in an x pen so she does not go potty in the same area as Rosey.

At least you have an answer, it's not something serious, and you know what to do for it. Hope she's better soon!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Should I call her daycare? Obviously I will not be taking her there

Just got back from the vet. They did a stool sample and all was negative, so that's good. They said they believed this to be a very benign case of diarrhea. They gave her something orally and gave me two different medications to give her.

However, as soon as I got home, Kona threw up twice. She then became extremely aggressive and bit me harder than she ever has. There was a ton of blood and the bite is extremely deep. Going to keep a close eye on it for infection. Kona has always been very routy, but never has she been this aggressive. I called the vet after she started vomiting and they weren't concerned - they told me if she continues to vomit, then it will become a greater concern and they will have to test for Parvo and things alike.
