Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Meet Sophie! She is a 4 year old Goldendoodle. This sweet girl will hang out at our house while we find her new family. She was an owner surrender. Her owner fell and broke her hip and has to move into an assisted living community. Our rescue group offered to foster her until she healed, but she has decided she is not able to live on her own and will remain in assisted living. She has no living family members which is why she decided to surrender her companion.

The DRC is a good choice because the dog would be fostered in someone's home, there would be publicity so lots of people would learn about her, and all applicants would be screened to find the just the right person to take her.
I'm the VP of a local dog and puppy rescue. We have similar policies and procedures to DRC except we deal with all breeds! All of our dogs and puppies are placed in foster homes, she just happens to be in my home and since she's a doodle I just thought I would share her pictures.
I'm already screening people interested! She was a huge hit, not surprisingly!
Thank you for helping Sophie find her forever home. I feel sad for Sophia's owner - life can be difficult some times!
She is beautiful, kudos to you for fostering her! Hoping and wishing for her to find the perfect home!
How sad for the owner and Sophie. I am sure she is confused and heartbroken. Thank you so much for helping her and I hope she finds a wonderful home.
Thank you for helping Sophie, I hope she finds her forever home soon.
She is beautiful! I am sure the poor woman's heart is broken to have to give up her dog and her home.
It was! She was crying, Sophie was sad looking back and her mom, and I was crying. The woman clearly loved her little girl. She's already emailed me asking how she is fitting in with her foster siblings. She was glad to know we have 2 of our own doodles and another as Sophie loves to hang out with other dogs.
I promised her that whomever we adopt her to will update her with pictures and visits if shes up for it. I've added it to our adoption agreement for her! :)
Bless you...my heart is breaking for the owner and Sophie. At least, getting updates may ease the pain a little. I can't imagine being separated from Fudge or Vern.
I think it's wonderful of you to foster this beautiful girl until she finds her forever home. How sad this must be for Sophie and her owner.
Exactly the type of thing (dog) I was looking for when Groucho died. I got a little rescue dog that is the perfect playmate for Harpo, but a rehomed doodle would have been my first choice. It won't take long for her to find another home.
