Hi, all.
One of our neighbors has an invisible fence. I was out walking Truffle when he approached it and it suddenly looked like he was having a seizure. It happened twice in quick succession. It then occurred to me that he might have been electrocuted by the fence.
When it was happening, he looked like a Looney Tunes cartoon character - with his legs splayed in different directions. He's fine - we proceeded along on on our walk without further incident, but it was truly scary for a brief instant.
Has anyone ever experienced this before? It must be a malfunction, no?

Hi, everyone. No further updates since the wonderful power company guys checked out the property this morning (see my earlier post), but I just wanted to thank ALL of you for chiming in with your thoughts, great ideas and concern for our Super Truffle. He's doing great and seems to have suffered no adverse reaction since yesterday's incident.
I must say that I just love this community - it's amazing what crowdsourcing can do to help you find answers to perplexing problems or even just comfort in a time of need. I feel like as I continue to participate in these discussions I'm getting to know many of you and I hope that someday we'll be fortunate enough to actually meet you and your beautiful dogs.
I will update this thread once I have new information to share. Thanks again, everyone!
Maybe there was a bare wire. I looked into those fences but realized they would not work for my pack. We have a big dog eared fence surrounding our back yard.We had chain link but Shea would pull on the fencing. So,we'll see how long this fence lasts. Plus we have lots of wildlife through out our neighborhood and electric fencing won't keep those critters out or mine in..
I will be looking forward to your update.
This is all very interesting! Looking forward to hearing about the results from the power company. Glad Truffle is okay!
Greetings, everyone. I promised I'd circle back with any news about this very strange incident. I finally saw the owner of the house with the hidden fence about 10 days ago (just before my daughter and I went on vacation) and explained what happened. While we were away, she had her fence company come out and have a look and they found nothing amiss. No surprise considering the power company's equipment didn't find anything out of the ordinary, either. The only thought the fence guy had was that perhaps Truffle was reacting to the high-pitched sound that the fence gives off, but I'm skeptical. Why at that part of the fence and not anywhere else? In any case, he's been fine ever since. The mystery remains unsolved, but thanks to all of you again for your concern and kind thoughts!
Thank you for the update. I wonder what it was????
No, something is wrong with the fence, or the owner (of the fence) set it up so that no dogs would be able to come onto his property. Usually, the dog who is being trained by the invisible fence needs to be wearing a collar that denotes to the dog that he is crossing over the line. My neighbor has one of these and his dog was trained to never leave the property. After he was trained, he no longer wears the collar. No other dogs get shocked and my dogs have gone onto their property many times. I hope they did not intend for the fence to be doing this.
