We don't allow dogs on furniture (sofa, beds, etc) at our house, but every great once in a while, if one of the doodles is freshly washed (or I'm going to change the bed sheets anyway) I have invited one of them up for snuggling. Usually when Clark is gone -- teehee (though I always tell him about it later).
Last night Rosco had a bath and he was soooo clean feeling and clean smelling that when he came by our bed this morning I convinced Clark to have Rosco come up on the bed to snuggle with him. But Rosco, being so ingrained with the idea that beds are for HUMANS was a little confused. The conversation went like this:
Clark (patting bed): Come on up Rosco! Rosco: Huh?
Clark: Up, come on up! Rosco: Sorry I'm not getting it
Clark (patting the bed harder): Rosco...come on...up up up! Rosco: Are you talking to ME?
Clark: Rosco...come on buddy...come up! Rosco: Daddy is this a trick?
Clark: Come on! Jump up! Rosco: Serious? you want me up there?
Clark: Yes Rosco. You. Up HERE! Rosco: Okay...but how do I DO that?
Clark: Well both paws...come on you can do it! Rosco: WOOOHOO!
Rosco proceeded to roll himself in all the wonderful human bed smells for about 1 minute and then collapsed happy to be snuggling.
I headed out the room to get a picture but before I even spotted the camera, Rosco the DOG had already hopped off the bed to follow me. LOL...silly boy!
This was repeated during our afternoon nap, but I had Rosco next to me for snuggling and he was soooo still (valuing this special treat) and good. It won't happen again for a loooong time but it was nice =)
Both of ours pretty much have free reign. When Gus was younger he would curl up in a tight ball and sleep up between our pillows against the headboard. More than once I've woke up nose to nose with him. Actually I'll post a photo of this my wife Linda took without me knowing. Now he comes up occassionally. Lilly will sometimes get up on the bed, but only when invited.
my doodles aren't allowed on any furniture and our bed is by invitation only. we have various dog beds in several rooms for them.
BUT I do have a special blanket I put on my bed for Max and Peanut, thus when once I am settled in they get the invite. They will sleep till I get up in the morning. : )
I sleep with the dogs, too! And not just my husband, haha! Usually we have 2 in the bed. 1 Dood and 1 Bijon. When we first get in though it's 2 doods and 1 bijon and 2 humans. We watch a little TV, snuggle a little, then everyone assumes their positions. Jack will jump off after his pets stop & get in his own bed. Sometimes in the middle of the night, I cannot move.
Usually not on the beds, but once in a while with invitation only on a blanket that can be washed. As for the furniture--always, but also only by invitation and on a blanket:)
I couldn't sleep with a dog in my bed...I just wouldn't be able to sleep, I can barely sleep with my husband, thankfully he's VERY still and doesn't snore or I'd be away all night! LOL it's hard enough with Paddington in his crate, I'd do better if he was able to be out of his crate, because then I wouldn't hear him when he moved around, or change positions! I'm a ridiculously light sleeper, evidently right?
I sleep with 2 cats and 2 dogs.... as long as Brian is not home, then I only sleep with 2 cats.
Cats only if they are on "my" side.
We let our dogs on the "down" stairs sofa, every once in a while we catch them on the "up"stairs couch.
Yes, I make them get off.
I like sleeping with the dogs. Payton will stay all night, Jordan always gets off as soon as I turn the light off. (I read before bed)
Not us. We do allow our boy to get up on our laps but otherwise he does not get up on the furniture, beds included. He sleeps in the laundry room (it's a very nice one really) and also goes in there when we are not at home - his great big crate. He does get on a bench to look out the window though and that is allowed!

Buddy sleeps in the bed with us, but if there is too much tossing or turning he goes out to his crate for some peace LOL Kona sleeps on daddy's side of the bed on the floor. Her choice, we could fit her if she wanted too, I think Buddy prefers it this way :) They both come up in the morning after daddy leaves for work for kisses and snuggles between the the three of us.
Buddy has his side of the couch, and Kona comes up to snuggle with me on the other side of the couch, Hubby is usually on the floor (he likes it there). Neither one shed at all, and nobody get's upset if someone is in "there spot" .
Ari does sleep in the bed. When we first adopted him, this was not our intention. His first month with us, he slept in our bedroom, but stayed mostly on the floor. He would come in the bed and snuggle at night, but was quick to sleep on the floor when the lights went off. The didn't last long however. He's now an official bed-hog.
Now that's it's summer, we sleep with a fan on in the bedroom and Ari has now gotten to the point that he will balance himself on the edge of the bed and lean into me so I will roll to the middle of the bed - JUST so HE can be the one laying directly in front of the fan! Smart dood!
My Labradoodle is Roscoe too (with an e!) Ok our dog is ridiculously spoiled. He sleeps with me every night , and almost always makes sure he is leaned up against me either on my legs or feet. Some nights he sleeps next to me w/ his head on a pillow like a person!
My boyfriend works nights so he comes home around 9 am, plays w/ Roscoe for a couple hours and then they go to bed together too :) Roscoe usually wakes up around 4 pm and when I get home at 5:30 I'm on doggie duty to play with him and wear him out.

HAHAHAHA! Yes......our Rosie sleeps with us!!! She is a snuggler.
But.........I notice right after she gets a hair cut, she will be in the bed all through the night and then......as her hair grows longer......the length of time in the bed gets shorter!
I think she must get to warm....(cuz I do) and she has the good sense to hop off!
What a good girl she is!
