Joanne~Spud started discussing Chem Trails and I had never hear of thi. So I listened to her link and started reading.

Conspiracy theory says . . .   it was trying to take over my computer!  I couldn't get out of the article without turning off my computer and rebooting!   I am not much of an alarmist so, while this could be true, I would need more in the way of proof before I could buy into the possibility.

I am not buying into conspiracy, but we do inject particulates into clouds to force rain in drought areas.  That's true. 

Let's let the conspiracy theory go for a bit and change our focus to just the term Particulates and how their indirect effect: pollution, fossil fuel burning, aerosols, etc.  

This is an indirect form but certainly effects our atmosphere causing rain, climate change, and many other manipulations in our universe.

When man wants to make it rain because of droughts, for example, they will inject particulates into the clouds so they hold moisture, heat up, rise, then rain.  It works.

Chemtrails can have a positive result in this way too.  

This can be looked at many ways, with good and bad particulates, for good and bad results.

But truth is, it exists.  A jet airplane does it indirectly with chemicals, where another plane may intentionally spray into the atmosphere for different reasons.  And many other explanations.  Do they try and manipulate weather in many ways for good and some, not so good reasons and results.

I want to also add that spraying from planes has gone on as long as planes themselves: crop dusting, insecticide control, rabies control, Agent Orange,  even firefighting.   Some for great results-firefighting and others well.. we all know those nightmare results. Some are from low lying, twin engine planes and others are broad spectrum high- flying aircrafts. Even rockets  sent into the atmosphere. 
It exists, there are Chemtrails for this very reason alone. Let alone all the other issues I have no idea of yet.

Whether there are conspiracies involved or not, I dont know, but that does not mean it does not exist completely as I just gave you examples-right

I understand how particulate matter affects rain, air quality, etc. and it is troubling. The affect of pollutants and particulates are well documented as affecting weather and air quality. I live in an area where this is a particularly (pun intended?) important issue because of the air quality (due to emissions, dairy farms, and the geography of the valley). The fact is that emissions from cars, planes, energy production plants, industrial plants, etc. are all contributors to this problem and we need to band together to support research for solutions. 

Like I said earlier, there isn't a great way to prove that a conspiracy DOESN'T exist - but that doesn't matter. The burden of proof is on people claiming that there is one. There is not sufficient evidence - therefore it is not proven. 

I hope everyone can focus on the useful (and more actionable) part of this issue, which is that which is proven.
