Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello All,
I recently joined Doodle Kisses and I am enjoying the discussions and the good information here. So I thought it was time to say Hello officially.
I am Judith and my little doodle girl is Addie. She is just over 4 months old now. She is a native North Carolinian, and I am a transplant, mostly from downstate NY. We live a little southwest of Raleigh, NC. Addie is a medium double doodle. Her dad is an Australian Labradoodle and her mom is a Goldendoodle.
I think she will be medium. At 16 weeks, she was 16 pounds. Does that sound about right?
Addie and I share the home with three cats. They are kind of giving me looks like, why did you have to bring her here? The cats and the puppy have a pact: she will chase them if they run; otherwise, she will sniff any and all available parts. The sniffing often leads to chasing, though.
Are there others from the Raleigh area on this site? It would be interesting to share local information.

Addie is adorable and has such unique coloring! I also have a medium double doodle, phantom, but she is chocolate with tan and a white chest. Welcome to DK and enjoy your girl!
I looked at pictures on your page and Chloe is beautiful. Her pictures give me an idea of what to look forward to.
Welcome to DK! Addie is so cute! Very sweet that she likes to investigate her cat siblings. I can't even say the word "cat" in front of Eloise without a growling and barking fit! Not sure where that came from!
Addie is adorable! Welcome to DK
Welcome to you and to Addie. She is adorable. If Addie is a standard, then you take her 16 week weight and double it plus 10 pounds, but if she is of mini stock, then that just doesn't work and she could be as small as under 30 pounds.
Oh my goodness... She is adorable.. Welcome to Doodle Kisses!
Welcome to Doodle Kisses Judith! Addie is adorable! No cats in this household, so Libby is the Princess of the house! LOL
Welcome to DK. I don't have any cats, but if/when I do...I sure hope my doodle loves them.
All will work out :)
Welcome to DK! Addie has awesome markings!
Welcome Judith - Addie you are adorable! Those Phantoms really are eye catching and wow you scored on the Doodleness :)
Supervision with cats and puppies can be fun. I have always had both cats and dogs, they can live together - but it truly depends on their individual nature. Here we have two rescued tripod cats and one of my cats loves our dogs - she is the Queen, but the other is a ScairdyCat and must be approached with serious delicacy - be certain that there are plenty of escape routes and places that are dog-less for the cats - those claws can do some serious damage to a puppy face and a ticked off cat does not get over it quickly. Your female cat is the Queen/boss and that's the end of that - she will teach Addie what is and is not ok, but it makes life easier if you help :)
Puppies to a cat are: noisy, smelly, too fast, unpredictable, as well as large and I always separate with an x-pen or gate at least for a while - but long run is that we have a gate with a cat sized opening and they have full run of my study that the dogs don't visit. The dogs snooze in the hall or play pattycake with the cats. Puppies chasing cats is not a good thing, so there is your first challenge - allow the cats to investigate the pup, not the other way around - for a while.
Hello to you both! We are new to DK. The discussions within the various "groups" have been very helpful on DK. Enjoy! AND good luck!
