http://www.orvis.com/news/dogs/photographer-focuses-on-black-dog-bi...I posted this in the Black Dog group and then decided to repost it here.  I just think it is such a cool project.  The link I am attaching (fingers crossed) takes you to Black Dogs Project, but I am not promoting Orvis or their products.  If the link does not work you can go through the Orvis site yourself or probably just google Black Dogs Project.

I must say my own Black Dog, Tinker, was the light of my life!!! I still miss him daily. He was a total goof-ball and didn't have a mean bone in his body.

BUT he was impossible to get a decent picture of... so I basically don't have one.

When getting another doodle, I purposely avoided a black one so I would not miss Tinker so much when I looked at him!

How can anyone think badly of a fluffy black dog?

Gorgeous photos and a worthwhile endeavor.

Thanks for posting this. Maryann, the Black Dogs Project is such a worthwhile way to bring awareness to the plight of black dogs in shelters.

This is very cool.  My daughter has a black lab rescue - awesome dog.  She says people cross the street rather than walk by her and LeRoi, and she is always asked if he is 'mean.'  Here is her vicious looking dog.

LeRoi is a great looking dog!

That is a cool project.

He is beautiful. I think people mistake head halters for muzzles : (

True, F. and that might contribute to a bad rep.

I agree. I was guilty of that mistake before I knew there was such a thing as a head halter

One of my favorite photos of Jack was a portrait done against a black background.  It really captures his personality.  BTW I've always had black or gray dogs.

Really dramatic, Suzanne.  It is lovely.

BEAUTIFUL picture !!!
