woo hoo! tulips are finally coming along and I can't wait to get back into gardening. I'm not going to let last year's container gardening disaster hold me down.
Vegetables are the new grass.
I've decided to build a planter in my front yard where the vegetables will get more sun. Maybe the squirrels and rabbits will eat it all but a girl's gotta try. If it works, I'll expand next year, if not, well, I will just plant some flowers in it instead.
here's some inspirtion:

Why would the city tell you what to grow on your front yard? I've never heard of that and I certainly hope there isn't anything like that. A lot of my neighbours have turned their front yard into gardens (not vegetable gardens though).
Here are a couple that might pass as flower borders if you weren't looking for a vegetable garden.
These are beautiful.
I've kind of chickened out a little on this project. I was all enthusiastic at first, but now I'm afraid it's going to look messy and ruin my front yard. I'm such a novice gardiner I don't know if I have what it takes to pull it off. Maybe I'll try it in my back yard and that way I won't have to worry what the neighbours think. I just need to keep Winston from peeing on it.
