He is darling. He could go bald and you would love him all the same.
What does the F2b stand for? Is he a goldendoodle bred back to a poodle (the usual) or perhaps bred back to a golden retriever. One would be 75% poodle, the other would be 75% golden retriever. I had a F2b goldendoodle (75% poodle) and he had the most wonderful coat. Since he is so young, you cannot really tell what his coat will be like, but I would guess it will not be flat. He is beautiful and I'm sure you will love him no matter what the coat turns out like. Smart and kind - two wonderful qualities in any dog.
A goldendoodle bred back to a poodle (or a retriever) is an F1B.
An F2B is an F1 bred to an F1B
Yes, Karen, that sounds about right. I am definitely not a breeder (for obvious reasons). It is all too confusing to me. My dog was not a F2b, he was an F1b, and 75% poodle.
Linda, I agree, I can't imagine why anyone would breed a F1 back to a golden retriever, but stranger things have happened. And this is a darling, darling little puppy.
I agree - he is a real doll and it looks like he has a gorgeous coat!
Lynda ~ my understanding that an F1-B is 25% golden and 75% poodle. If you breed a golden (or lab) to a poodle, the offspring is an F1 (or 50% poodle 50% golden). If you breed the F1 back to a poodle, you get the F1B. IMO - I do not know why anyone would ever breed the F1 back to a golden retriever because you would be bringing back the qualities you are trying to bred out such as shedding.
Saccone, your puppy is so cute.
He is adorable! It is so hard to tell, but either way he will be a cutie!
