Although it doesn't prevent all kennel cough it decreases the chances of getting it and may lessen the severity. It' said good idea for a dog who gets boarded or goes to daycare etc.
Enzo is occasionally boarded, occasionally does doggie daycare and occasionally visits dog parks, so we keep up with her Bordetella. Better to be safe than sorry.

It's also a good idea for dogs who go to a groomer.

Groomers, day cares, and boarding places require it, as do some training facilities. Unless you are completely positive your dogs will never need to go to those places, I'd vaccinate yearly to keep up with their requirements.

Mine all go to the groomers ,so I always keep up on it.

Quincy had kennel cough as a pup, and it was a scary cough and he clearly was out of sorts.  My vet thought it was a milder case since he had been vaccinated.  So it is not 100% but seems worth it in any dog that is boarded, goes to camp or groomer and probably even dog parks as others have indicated.

Thank you everyone. Lucy got her vaccine back in May. I feel saved. People telling me you shouldn't get one cuz any dog will get kennel cough. Its just a cold. Lucy goes either groomer or daycare.
