Feeling lost on doodle kisses

Hi all.   I joined doodle kisses a few months ago -- I wasn't really sure what I was doing but managed to play around in my Page.  I thought I was a very computer savvy person -- but I feel completely lost on here.  Not sure how to maneuver around.  
I'm trying to find fellow doodle owners in my area as I'd be curious to find any doodle get togethers or romps. I live in Virginia Beach but will moving to Chesapeake next month.   WHere do I go to find any of this information?
My next question is:  Do I have to join groups according to subject manner?

Just need a little guidance as I've heard so so so many great things about doodle kisses.  I belong to a ton of groups on facebook and usually once a day doodle kisses is mentioned by someone.

Hello Patty and welcome to Doodle Kisses. It is a huge web site and it can feel a bit intimidating at first but hang in there and I am sure you will find people and information.

In the groups is where you will find the most info that is relevant to you. You can join as many groups as you like. There are groups of people geographically as well as groups about interests, medical stuff, food - you name it. I think that is where you will find the most useful information and people to connect with.

If you click on the MAIN tab you should see a drop down menu with several selections...click on NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION. Hopefully that will help you! :-)

Hi Patty, Welcome to DK. It is a good idea to join groups...for instance, if you have a food question, post it in the Food Group. Take the time and look at all the groups offered....we have some busy ones....Food, Training, Photography, etc.  Others are not as frequented. You could start a new discussion asking for meet ups and romps in your area. It is always good to do a search before asking, only because we have had a billion discussions on pet insurance, giardia, puppy biting, etc. and sometimes what you want to know has already been answered. Yes, read the new member's orientation...that will help you out a lot. Meanwhile, don't be afraid to comment and ask questions..this is a friendly group. Good luck!!!

Hi and welcome! As others mentioned, definitely join the individual groups that you are interested in. Do a search for the area/State you are in, for info on local Doodle .Romps.

Hi Patty!  I felt the same way when I joined, but the more I was on it, the easier it was to maneuver.  Joining the groups is absolutely the best way to get answers and meet people.  This is a great site and believe me, you will get addicted to it soon.
