Pup SITS on walks! Ugh!

Hi everyone!  Our 9 month old goldendoodle, Khloe, is very energetic, so we take her on one or two 20 minute walks per day.  However, she will often SIT in the middle of the sidewalk or street after walking for (sometimes) only 5 minutes.  We have a gentle leader for her, and we try to encourage her to move forward with treats and "happy talk," however, she will not move unless we turn around and go the other way-- home!! Sometimes we try and wait it out and show her that we are the boss and don't give in to her demands, but this can obviously be frustrating just standing there waiting. There is only so much we can do short of dragging her along the route. We don't think she is hurt or anything because as soon as we turn around she bolts home no problem-- she sprints around the backyard and happily plays with us, has an appetite, etc.  Has anyone had any similar experiences?  Any advice?

We searched on the site here but weren't able to find any solutions using the posts similar to ours. She definitely walks great with the gentle leader when she is walking. However, whether it be the gentle leader, a harness, or a regular collar, she still just seems to sit randomly and wait for us to turn around. She doesn't eat or sniff anything; rather, she just sits there and waits.

My Sasha did this as a puppy but now she is almost 5 and is my walking buddy, so she kind of out grew it.  At first I think she just did not know how to go on a walk but she quickly caught on because they are so darn smart :)

Libby did this all the time as a young puppy but the behavior stopped by the time she was about a year old.  Now it has started again, although not too frequently.  Sometimes when it's very warm out she just doesn't want to walk as far, and that's ok with me.  But sometimes she just wants to go a different way than I want to go and she sits down a gives me that doodle look.  But I make her go the way I want to go just because she's spoiled enough!  Although moving an unwilling large doodle is not that easy!  :)  But I know she's ok, not in pain or anything, just being stubborn.  If you can rule those things out, then you can deal with the behavior.

So, she likes the yard but not cement or concrete?

Maybe she hates the texture or it is too hot.  

Take her to a park and see if she completes the walk? 

She sounds old enough. Young pups do this all the time.

My older Mastiff began doing this around 8 years old.  He would sit at the end of the corner after  just one block and let me go another mile in a circle and I would pick him up on the way back.  I would never even consider doing that now, but those were different days.e He stopped walking long distance all together.  I never forced the issue any more
