I have two females (almost 2 yrs and 7 months) and wow do they go at it!!! I am aware that males can be dominate too, but it appears that females tend to rule the roost, they both want to be the Alpha and will not back down, they get along very well, but when they want to play, their play is pretty rough because neither of them will back down, in fact the baby takes a beating from my older one and literally goes right back at her, but when their done their done and they calm down and will lay down right beside eachother. They both will also steal toys and treats away from each other, that actually makes me laugh to watch, but it's always a challenge with them, I think I would go for a one male and one female if I did it all over again.
I think my older one may have jealously issues too, she was abandoned by her family at 10 months and we rescued her and maybe had her for 9 months and then got the baby (hoping to give her company during the day when we are at work) she accepted her fine, but when their playing they both get so overly excited to the extend where it is over the top, no backing down on either side, their both very stubborn, but when they are not in play mode they lay by each other and Daisy, the almost 2 yr old, will lick her head. Daisy is spayed but Sophie has not yet been spayed (which will be very soon) maybe that's an issue?
