Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Please read this a couple of times before submitting photos...
HOW TO SUBMIT PHOTOS
1) Read the guidelines for photos: http://www.doodlekisses.com/page/calendar-photo-requirements -- reading this will help you know what types of photos we accept. VERY important.
2) You will need to email each photo as an attachment.. Send ONLY ONE photo PER EMAIL--I know this is tedious, but it helps tremendously in sorting photos if you only send ONE photo per email. So if you have 1 photo you send one email. If you have 5 photos, you send 5 separate emails.
3) You may submit up to 5 photos PER doodle that belongs to you.
4) In your email include the following info:
5) Send photos by email to: DKCalendars@gmail.com -- be sure that your email account does not shrink photos. Sometimes only teeny tiny photos get through and I can't use teeny tiny photos. See the link for our photo requirements above to know what size photos we accept.
Deadline for Submissions: September 22nd, 2014---please bookmark this discussion or click "Follow" at the bottom of the thread to say up-to-date on any changes which DK Admin reserve the right to make at any time. It will be your responsibility to keep informed on this by reading through the responses to this discussion because these may contain clarification and additional tips. Selection of final calendar photos will be done by DK Admin and is subject to their best judgment. Final selections usually don't happen until the last week of October--days before the calendar is complete and announced for sale.
Please note that I will not give feedback on submissions. But if you'd like feedback on your photo before submitting, you can ask for help in our photography group.
* Because Doodle Kisses was created for labradoodle and goldendoodle owners, our two main calendars will only feature labradoodles and goldendoodles. However, our multi-doodle calendar may accept photos of other common doodles. While we love all dogs, we have to stay true to our site's focus and will not include just any dog that may have poodle in its mix. If you have a rescue doodle and are not sure what precise type it is...just take your best guess when listing the type of doodle your dog is.
**As always 25% of all Doodle Kisses annual profits will go to doodle and dog rescue organizations -- this includes profits from calendar sales.

Ha ha, so true!
I was just gonna say that!!! LOL
My doodle's paws are crossed that she gets to be a calendar girl!!
Question from the other page: "How do I confirm that my iPhone 5 is the correct dpi? Also, when you attach a photo, the system prompts you to select the "kb" and gives three different sizes, ranging from 34.7 to 533. Are we looking to submit larger or smaller kb?"
Answer: The main concern is photos that are too small to use. So when in doubt send the largest file your email/phone can send.
In the past there were complaints that we have a bias against black doodles. Please know that is NOT true. I have an apricot doodle and a black doodle...a few years ago we had another black doodle. Believe me when I say I LOVE black doodles and I think they are stunning. The reason we don't have a ton of black doodles in our calendars is because black doodles are tough to photograph well. It's the photographs as a whole we are judging, not the doodle as a single component.
Our photography group is a very active group on DK, and because of the work the members of that group do to help each other improve their photography skills the quality of submissions increase each year. We get some amazing photos submitted so before you submit your photos, take time to really look at them and be 100% sure they are in focus and NOT blurry in the slightest. Is the lighting good or is it giving your dog weird glows in its eyes? Is it a boring photo or one that is interesting and unique? I do tend to favor outdoor shots both because they are more interesting and because the lighting is often better, the colors are better, and it is more fun to look at then just a bland photo of a doodle with a wall or couch behind it. Of course there are always exceptions for an amazing shot.
For tips on photographing doodles of any color or to get feedback on photos you are considering for submission, please visit our photography group and ask the friendly doodle folks there for their thoughts on your photos :-)
Well my Hank is black and doesn't have the typical super curly long hair yet but I still submitted some photos. Doesn't hurt to try :)
My black doodles have been in the calendars before and I will submit pictures for this year's calendar. I've noticed the black doodle pictures are getting better. But it's true that it's hard to get good pictures of the blacks. They are so much more beautiful in person. Anyway, you'll soon receive my black doodle pictures :)
What Adina says is sooooo true !! That is why I NEVER have a photo that is good enough to submit of Finnley. Well, that and the fact that she never co-operates !
Kirby is a Golden Doodle, 3 years old living in San Diego, California. My DK user name is Linda Milner. I took this photo n my home.
