My 7 month old puppy was trying to bite and growled at me and my son while chewing on a bone, we just passed by her, when I looked at her she showed me her teeth.
And the other day she bit/nipped my 4 year old while she had her chewing toy, didn't like that at all.
Otherwise never aggressive.I took her bone and a few treats and when I took the bone away gave her a treat right away for being nice and she was.
Is your puppy behaving like that ,too???? Any suggestions????
Same thing happend to me. Rusty is 10 weeks old and I was very excited to give him his first bully stix but once he realized what is was he turned into a totally different dog. He would growl when I would try and take it away and he would run from me to hide it and eat it. I refuse to give him anymore until he is older and see what happens.
Since your puppy is already a teenager, I think this is something to be taken seriously. You don't have to worry, but you do need to start working on changing this behavior right away. Here is a link to a past discussions we've had on this topic:
Thank you sooo much everybody, I feel much better already, she never groweld about her food bowl only her bone, and one time she bit right away, only once never again. That I didn't like. But your suggestions all make so much sense and are easy to do.
I was bitten twice as a child by dogs, with blood, so that's why it scared me.
She is great with children and hopefully doesn't do it again.
