Since I joined doodlekisses just about a year ago, I have seen and heard about parts of Pa. that I have never heard of before. Just to get to know each other a little bit more, tell were you are from and a little bit about the area.
Lucy and I live in Vandergrift, Pa. Really we live 1/2 way between Vandergrift and Ford City. We live very near Crooked Creek State Park. It is a rural area. We live on 10 acres. It is just about 32 miles NE of Pittsburgh and, Yes we are big Steeler fans. We have mountains and trout streams around. It is quite beautiful in the fall with all of the colored leaves. It is really nice now, I think, because everything is starting to green up.

Hello All !
I live in the township called Penn HIlls, which is about 20 minutes East of Pittsburgh.
It used to have more of suburban flavor, but changing rapidly...
I used to, many years ago, have friends that lived in Penn Hills. I have been there a few times. Not tooooo far from me.
New Castle has been home for the past 9 months. One hour north of Pittsburgh. Economically depressed, but attempting some downtown revitalization. We've got the city/downtown part, and then the suburbs/townships that everyone moved out to, and then woods/rural farms/Amish.
Erin, my DH & I had to go to New Castle to get our birth certificates to get our passports to go on vacation. WE GOT A PARKING TICKET !!!! There were very little places to park so we parked, in what we thought was a parking spot, right across the street. We went into the building and my DH had to go out to get his wallet he forgot, like 5 minutes later, and there was the ticket. Do they sit in the building and watch for people to park in that spot???? LOL LOL LOL Do you live in town or out in the woods ?
Where the heck were you going? The court house? There's always plenty of space downtown, cause, well, no one ever really goes downtown... But the court house is always packed!

We live on the south east side of town, near Cascade Park, if you know where that is.
No, we were not even in the town. We didn't have to go to the court house. We went to some building on the outskirts of town where you get the birth certificates. It was on some side street.
Hi Erin we have been to Cascade Park! We go there every Fall with the dogs for Canines in the Cascades!!
That's a fun filled doggy day!!
We live in S/E Pa. near Willow Grove. Lots of creeks, streams and rivers nearby although in the summer we try to spend as much time as possible in the Pine Barrens of S.Jersey. It's a wild and forgotton place that is perfect for doggie adventures.

Near Willow Grove sounds like a very nive place and a nice place to visit. Are you close to the ocean? And see, I have never ever heard of Pine Barrens of S. Jersey. Thanks, maybe we will come there on vaca some day. My DH loves to fish.
This looks great!!!  Makes me think of The Sopranos.  HAHA
Whoops, just realized these early posts are over two years old.  Sorry.
