I finally got a decent video or Orwell's dinner dance. This is far less elaborate than what he sometimes does, but cute nonetheless. He only dances for two things: dinner, and when I come home. I'm seriously trying to figure out why he loves me. He only shows these behaviors for me. He's unhappy when I go upstairs to get something FOR 10 FREAKING SECONDS. He doesn't care if anyone else goes upstairs. He'll be allowed upstairs at the end of the month when he is completely reliable on the potty training thing. He is not interested in strangers or acquaintances unless they come to say hi to him. In fact, he oftentimes puts himself in between me and a stranger on walks. I guess he's just not a big fan of people... I feel like I'm almost living with a dog who has Asperger's like I do. I will never know why he was the first to come to me in the litter and tried to cuddle with me several times. At that point I was like, "Oh, that's cute." But as I've spent this month with him, I have realized that it was actually a bigger deal than I thought at the time. He was even the only one to follow me to the door after the visit. He woke up from his nap and said goodbye to me.
I also contracted a cold last night... he was in the laundry room dead asleep after I ran him down with exercise and I was in the kitchen when I went into a sneezing fit (it wasn't terribly loud). He immediately comes trotting to me, sits in front of me with a concerned look on his face. I was sneezing all through our walk today too, and I had to stop a couple of times. He just gave me the same look and was content to wait for me.
I couldn't have asked for a better match. He is definitely what I needed.

Such a GOOD boy already. Look at that SIT for dinner.
Kaitee, Orwell may be going through the 4 month fear stage on your walks. That's fine. Keep him feeling safe right now. It passes
There are many links to the Fear Stages and Developmental Stages for dogs. Here is one link and you can find more on a searches

He does have good manners. (:
Good to know. There were two toy poodles in the front yard of a house (it was fenced) and they were barking at him and he was a little nervous. It's funny because he is 2 times their size combined already. :P I also took him to the park on Sunday during a kid's soccer game. Someone scored a goal and he was frightened by the sudden collective reaction. The echoing in that place is overwhelming. Even I wasn't ready for it.
Good news is that he is never frightened for long.
What a sweetheart!!
cutie! glad you both found the perfect match!
