Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi, does anyone out there have a light apricot goldendoodle with a brown nose? There's a puppy we're considering, and we'd really like to see some photos of what he might look like. Thanks!

Those are hard to come by because golden retrievers don't typically carry the brown/liver nose gene. Look at my labradoodle...he's apricot with a liver nose...might give you an idea! do you have a photo of the pup???
Hi, thanks for the reply and for the welcome message yesterday! I have a photo I might be able to send you through regular email if you'd like to see it. It's hard to tell how brown the nose is; maybe you can tell me what you think.
If you have the photo you can insert it RIGHT here in your response or even go back to your original discussion click "edit discussion" and insert it into the discussion.

Just click on the little blue/green box above where you are tying and then you can select the file off of your computer (if the photo is saved on your computer) and click 'add' then click "add reply" and you're done!

Oh and what generation will the puppy be? F1 or F1b?
It's an F2, I believe. Mom is an F1b, Dad and F1. Sorry, I am practically illiterate on the computer, so I'm not sure how to send the photo.
LOL...I have a personal mission that nobody is allowed to stay computer illiterate..besides you are doing great so far! Okay let's try it again. Whenever you reply with a comment like you JUST did to tell me he's an F2 you type in a box right? Well at the top of the box you type in there is a bar that looks like this:

Try it...start typing a response just to try it. In the box where you are typing...do you see that bar?

Okay...so you should see a B, an I, and an underlined U followed by three other things in that bar. The LAST thing in the lineup is a little blue/green square. That blue/green allows you to add an image/photo.

Click on that square and you will then see this:

The first thing you'll see is "Upload an image" ... you can do that by clicking the browse button. From there it is JUST like adding a photo to an email...you search for the file on your computer and then click "add" at the bottom.

What you'll first see is that a bunch of letters/numbers gobledygook appear in the place where you are typing. That's normal. Once you click on "add reply" to add your message it will appear!

If that doesn't help watch this video that shows you how to do it so you can SEE it:

P. S. Be sure to watch our Front Page Tour video too...that will help you get to know the site: http://doodlekisses.com/video/video/show?id=2065244%3AVideo%3A199055
Hahaha! Ok, I'll give it a try. But don't feel like you've failed if it doesn't work; you are very kind to offer such a complete tutorial!
If you take a look at my page, you'll see Dexter who is a F1B cream labradoodle with a liver nose :) Goldendoodles and labradoodles often look quite similar.
How old is the puppy and is he an F1? All puppies are born with light noses. The pigment darkens when they are about 10-15 days old. If it's an F1 with a brown nose it would be highly unusual.
Really?? I hadn't heard that before! The puppy's mom is an F1b and the dad is an F1. Both have black noses. The puppy isn't even a week old yet.
Yep! It will turn black. :o)

Same puppy is now three weeks and it is black.

Well, that's exciting! I have to say, all goldendoodles are adorable, but to me, there's something sooooo darling about the contrasting, black nose! One breeder, not the one whose puppy this is, did tell me that the nose would stay brown, though. Have you ever seen that happen?
Yes, it can happen. It would be called a liver or rose nose. I am no expert on noses, but I believe both parents would have to carry for chocolate, which is why it's rare, especially in F1's.
