Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Annabelle is 15 weeks old and weighs 6.3lbs. She is a mini doodle, but I thought even for a mini that might be on the small side. I don't mind her being small as long as she is healthy and eating enough. Her mom is 30lbs and her dad is 11. The breeder said she would top out just under 25lbs. She isn't much of an eater and it is a challenge to get her to eat sometimes. Some days she will only eat about a cup of food. I can tell she is getting bigger, the scales just don't seem to budge much. For those of you that have a mini, does this seem normal? The vet doesn't seem concerned. He says she is healthy. I would post this in the mini doodle group, but they don't seem very active over there. This has been her weight so far. Thanks

I was thinking if she is going to make it over 20lbs she still has a lot of growing to do to get there.
Aw, such cuties, thanks for sharing the pic.
Amy, Annabelle is a cutie. And she probably favors her dad in size. My Addie is a miniature/medium and at 10 months, she seems to have topped out at 28 lbs. At 13 weeks, she was 12.4 lbs.
It your pup is healthy, and gaining weight (it will not always be linear) and your vet is happy, please don't worry. You just have a little cutie on your hands, with emphasis on "little".
Thanks, yes she will always be little I think.
Hi Amy! II would not worry about Annabelle's weight if the vet says she is healthy. My mini weighs 30 pounds at three years old but her litter brother (who is being used in their breeding program now) only weighs 16 pounds!! Same litter and such a difference in size!! You really never know what you are going to get with a doodle!! They are all special and adorable!! Enjoy your petite little girl!!
Wow, such a weight difference from the same litter. It's true, it can be a surprise how they will end up.
Thanks everyone. It looks like I am just going to have a little one. That's fine with us. I was just worried she wasn't gaining enough.
I know our Kate is growing but she still seems thin. She may be in a lanky stage. Glad the vet seems to think she's ok.
Her legs are getting longer that's for sure. She is such a fur ball that you don't notice how thin she is except when wet. I love the look Kate is giving in your picture. She is a cutie
