We plan on leaving town for the Christmas holidays and we are taking both girls along. I always take Meg with me on long trips but Polly has a tendency to get car sick so she stays with dad unless we hire a sitter. In preparation we have made more frequent short trips and she has been doing fine but decide to do a longer one today and see how she did. Success, we were running around for a bit over five hours and she didn't even get drooly. With any luck she has outgrown this.
Since we were out we decided the girls deserved a trip to Petsmart where they showed off their "company" manners, one lady asked if she could bring her little dog to our house for lessons. They are always great when we take them like that and they did me proud again today so they each got a new ball.
One more for fun thing. When my son was still at home anytime a package came he would steal the bubble wrap and play with it until he had popped each bubble, he still did it at age 18. We have started letting Meg and Polly have the bubble wrap and they love to hold one foot on it and pull up to pop bubbles, we follow them around to pick up the pieces as they spit them out, they get so excited with it. Honestly they do not have one unsupervised moment with this and the entire episode only takes 2-3 minutes but they love that bubble wrap.
I never thought I would be one of those people that constantly talk about and show off their dogs but these girls just make me goofy! Love them so much.

Sounds like a lovely day.
I'd love to see a video of the bubble wrap! Now I can't wait for my next package to come so I can see what Myla will do with bubble wrap! I never thought of letting her try it!
Have a great trip. We have experimented with various rescue dogs who get carsick and taking them for short trips (like you did) is often successful. Another thing that helps is having fresh air blowing on them. Not with their heads out the window but, our Honda Pilot has air conditioning vents for the back seat and we have that blowing on the car sick prone dogs. That seems to help also.
My children, and now my grandchildren pop bubble wrap too! Hmmmm . . . I wonder if they will share with the doods???? I am glad that Polly did so well traveling today.
Your post makes me smile!
I can TOTALLY relate to your last sentence, "I never though I would be one of those people that constantly talk about and show off their dogs...." We took Winnie to our local Holiday Lights Parade last week. She wasn't even IN the parade- we were just walking around before the parade started and she was literally the star of the show! We've been working a lot on her "manners" and were so happy to see that she sat so nicely when kids and grownups wanted to pet her. It made my heart soar...
Enjoy your girls on this Thanksgiving day! Lots to be thankful for, huh?!
What a wonderful day and I'm glad Polly is ready for her big trip!
