I feel like its always something with me...but my mom and sister dog sat for Brooks this weekend and discovered a small lump on his leg. I'm calling the vet tomorrow, but wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this? It is on his upper leg (near shoulders)..where he got his shots last weekend and I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. Its not hard, it moves around. My parents own a Yorkie and said she had something similar which their vet said was a fat deposit. My head is spinning because I'm SUCH a worrier...I hope its nothing, but am freaked out. Brooksy is still a pup..4 months old. Could it be scar tissue or something from the shot? Any thoughts? I'll let you know what the vet says tomm...but I can't sleep so I thought I'd see if anyone has any advice. Thanks!!!!!

I'd definitely have the vet check it. It's most likely one of the things you mentioned, but I think it's always good to check.
I agree with Leslie, let the Vet check it out.
Jordan had to have stitches on both back legs a couple of years ago,she got a large lump from the medicine. It went away. Payton my older dog has lumps now from his shots.I forget what the Vet calls them but it is right on his upper shoulders. Payton's lumps wont go away,my Vet said they wont cause any problems.
I am agreeing with the rest of comments. Some of us have more sensitive skin than others and reacts to an 'injury' like the injection. Ask the vet to see if he can extract fluid from it with a syringe. It probably is from his injection but you cant walk around with the 'what if's".
Please post us an update after you see the vet.
I would definitely go to the vet. We had something similar with Dexter about 8 months ago...the vet said lumps are rarely anything serious in young dogs, but still wanted to check it. It wound up going away itself.

Good luck - I feel your pain...it's always something with Dexter too!
Hey guys..thanks, I am so sensitive and worry like crazy. Just called the vet and they can't get him in until Thursday. Boo! Just say a little prayer for Brooks and ME...I get all worked up about these things!
Okay..I talked to some people here at work...and I guess its not uncommon for a doggie to get a lump at the site of a vaccination...especially rabies...for some reason. I'm going with that...:) Still taking him to the vet...but going to put that in my mind so I stop obsessing! :) Have a great day, all!
Thanks for the reassurance, Lauren! :) God help me if I have children....I will worry to death!
Brook is so adorable............I agree with all of the other posts............please keep us updated on what happens on Thursday. Just a thought, if the vet felt it was serious they would of had you come in immediately.
I totally missed the part about it being after getting a shot. I really bet it's a result of that. I wouldn't worry, but would still take him to the vet as you are planning for peace of mind :)
Hi all - I just wanted to update you. I ended up not taking Brooksy to the vet yesterday because the lump has gone down to almost not exsisting. We called the vet and because he just had his shot, in that location, she asked us to watch it (its rather common to have a lump after a shot) and to bring him in for a visit if it doesn't disappear in a few weeks. She said it could be there about a month! I didn't talk to her before when I made the appointment..and it made me feel better because she said its real common...So...yay! Now we all know something new! :) Thanks for your comments and support!
Great news! So glad that's all it was!
