So, our little boy isn't coming home until mid-January and Santa is the one announcing the news on Christmas, so I can't show anyone these pics (except for my husband and he's no fun)!

For anyone who remembers my last post about picking a puppy, we were the last family to pick....but she just informed us that we got the one we wanted anyway! Yay! I hope he's as Doodly as some of your precious pups I see on here!

Here's our boy.....whose name is still being discussed ( DH and I cannot agree! Lol):

Sorry I can't embed the pics (iPad)......

What a little sweetheart! Totally adorable!

I am so jealous! Enjoy!

Oh my goodness, he is adorable. The kids will be so excited. It would be a long 3 weeks at my house.

He is beautiful and will surpass your wildest dreams in his adorable-ness! He will be your Joy!

Congratulations Sara!  Looking forward to lots of puppy pics and tales!

Lol! Thanks everyone! I knew I'd get more "satisfaction" here than from my DH who says "yep...cool" when I show him the pics. Lol.

Names are SO difficult! Ugh. I'm an English teacher (I teach Briitish, American, and Young Adult literatures for 11th & 12th graders), so I was hoping for a literary name. But I can't foresee myself calling "come here William Faulkner!" to a puppy. Ha!

Today, my DH is stuck on the name Otis ( after Otis Redding, which I can live with) and I'm battling between Manny (after Manfred Mann) and Friday ( which is the name my four-year-old daughter really wants. She is the one who asked Santa for a puppy and she tells everyone that she asked Santa for a puppy and if he brings her one she's gonna name it Friday....so that's kind of hard to deny since, well, she's so darn cute!). Lol.

Thoughts? Or any other names you can think of? We aren't "popular" name people really. My son is 6 and his name is Gus and my daughter is Lulu.

If anyone has suggestions, I'd love to hear them! :)

Edited to add: with my daughter, we told her that sometimes Santa names the puppy for you, so she might not get to name it. While I like the name Friday (I mean, TGIF right?!), my husband thinks it's ridiculous. But, then again, he's kind of ridiculous too, so there ya have it. :)
Never heard of Friday for a dog, I like it. It is unusual, your girl picked it and was the companion of Robinson Cruso. What more could you ask for? Besides, everyone loves Fridays!

I got my Orwell from my high school English teacher so I named him after a literary figure as well. (: Though, I tend to do that. My guinea pig is named Milton after John Milton.

Classic literature is really my hobby... and no one has a dog named Orwell. I'm all about trying to be original to prevent having more Sams or Maxes.

Friday is nice in that case. I don't know if you are willing to consider this (as it is outside of your field of study), but you could modify Friday to Faraday to possibly make everyone happy. Michael Faraday was a scientist who discovered electromagnetism.

I like Friday. Sounds like a keeper to me. I bet you won't come across another Friday at the dog park. Of course there is Detective Joe Friday from Dragnet. That should tell you how old I am. I loved that show, and I was just a little kid when it was on.

I like Friday too...but I don't know if it has "longevity". Lol.
I had never heard of it as a dogs name, but one lady at Target told my daughter that it's the dog's name in the movie, Hotel for Dogs? My daughter loves the name because she isn't a fan of preschool and when it's Friday she always bops around and says "I love Friday, I love Friday!" so she tells everyone that Fridays are the best! Lol.

I love your daughter's reasoning!! : )
