Supplements for shiny coat

Hi everyone!

This past summer our vet gave us a bottle of fish oil to add to Cooper's diet.

In part to help with his coat and skin.

The first weekend that we introduced it to his diet turned in disaster!! Only a few drops were added to his food and he got diarrhea like you would not believe!! ( I'll leave out the details but it's wasn't pretty!!) Poor guy he felt bad that he had a ''little'' accident where he wasn't suppose to...

My husband took the bottle and threw it away!

Is there any other supplement or product to help with his coat. I find that he is not as soft or shiny as he used to be..

Try giving him some raw eggs, too.

I've attached a photo of what we use and it works! Had loose stools NOT diarrhea for max 2 days. Will see your dog's poop differ every they poop it out, my dog's have speckle poop. Our boared certified veterinary says its very normal amd common to see stools like we do. Sprinkle on food or cook with food. My goldendoodle grows hair like weeds, super soft, shiny coat! We ordered it on Amazon, we're online shoppers since we live 30 mins from every store lol NO fishy smell or taste!!!!! Has omega 3 and 6 plus glucosamine and works on all breeds. Look it up. We give Angus Welactin as recommended by our vet. It has omega-3 along with a few other things, but we've definitely seen an improvement with itchiness and coat.

That makes sense, because Welactin is a fish oil supplement, rich in EPA and DHA. :)

The Omega 3 fatty acids EPA & DHA are the ones that have been shown to be effective for dry skin & coats, and they're only found in fish. GLA, found in certain plants like evening primrose oil, is converted in the body and has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties. But most fatty acids from plant sources (coconuts for example) are not easily converted or utilized by dogs.

Hi everyone! thanks again for all the good  advices , just wanted to give a little update , we have been giving Cooper the human softgel capsules of fish oil omega-3 300mg EPA/DHA for the last couple of weeks and everything is going so well , no diarrhea not even loose stools from it!

Hopefully this will help with his coat and skin!
