Hi everyone I was wondering what different flea/tick/heart worm/everything else people use. I looked around on a couple group pages and couldn't find a thread of this. If there's already several discussions on this I'm sorry to re-hash it!
Currently he is using revolution and we made it through what our vet called a "heavy flea season" last year without any parasites of any kind. It's certianly nice that it's an "all in one thing" or atleast marketed that way. I Just want to make sure he's on the right one going into the warmer weather and figured this would be a good place to get some advice.

The threads are usually more specific by brand name. I use frontline plus inconsistently. Recently put both did on Sentinel and sentinel plus for parasite prevention. No heartworm where I live but Boca had whipworm last year.

Annabelle was put on Revolution by my vet when we brought her home in October. In early January I noticed she had a worm in her stool. Took her to the vet and he put her on 3 rounds of Sentinel plus to knock them out. The vet told me I could give her a couple of doses of capstar if I notice fleas on her.  I have just kept her on the Sentinel since the Revolution didn't do anything. But it obviously is working for your pup. I live in cold Michigan. I was just surprised this happened during the freezing winter.

I live in Michigan too! That is very surprising especially with the winter we are having! I'm glad she's ok though!

I use Frontline Plus and Revolution.  I had used Sentinel, but since Murphy's IBD diagnosis he needs to have a med that is applied externally rather than ingested.

When I lived in a city I used Sentinel and it worked well - works on fleas and intestinal parasites. Now I live north in the country I use Revolution becuase it also works on ticks. Revolution isn't so good on intestinal parasites, so I also get their poop tested and give a dewormer a couple of times through the year.
