Whimzees Stix Chunks in Poo

I recently switched to the Whimzees Stix from Get Naked Dental Chews since I wanted to rotate chicken out. Has anyone noticed chunks of the Stix in your pup's poo? I'm wondering if I should stop giving her these if I find chunks of it. They're not hard - I thought it was wax at first. For the most part her poo is still a good consistency. We brush her teeth, so we can cut the chews out. It's just been a part of our bedtime routine.

I just switched to them too but I haven't been going out back with DJ since I've been sick and there is so much snow out there so I haven't checked

Chunks of the Whimzees in her poop just means that she didn't chew them up very well and she couldn't digest the big pieces. There's nothing dangerous or harmful about that, although if she isn't chewing them, she isn't getting any benefits from them, so you're basically wasting your money. 

I'm confused though about what you meant by "rotating the chicken out".

Thanks for the replies! The chunks aren't too big - about the size of large corn kernels. Since the stix don't seem to be doing harm right now, we might finish up the bag, but not buy them anymore.

I switched to these since the Get Naked Chews had chicken. I just started rotating her food. She was on Orijen Adult and right now she's on Orijen Six Fish. I'm trying to keep chicken out of her diet until we rotate back to Orijen Adult. I know avoiding certain proteins won't necessarily prevent her from developing food allergies, but I figured it wasn't too hard to do anyways. Is withholding a certain protein for a period of time the right way to rotate food?

There aren't really any hard and fast rules for rotating proteins; the research isn't there to support a particular length of time. Your way seems as good as any. :)

I've been giving my Doodle Whimzees Stix and other shapes for over a year and have never seen chunks from them, I do always see him poo.

She seemed a bit constipated after the second day of the stix so I've stopped giving it to her. There's a disclaimer on the bag that I didn't follow :( 

• Not suitable for dogs under the age of 9 months.
• As with any edible product, monitor your dog to ensure the treat is adequately chewed. Swallowing any item without thoroughly chewing it may be harmful or even fatal to a dog.

She's 8 months so maybe her teeth aren't strong enough to thoroughly chew it, but I don't think I'll try it again when she's older.

Two of my dogs didn't do well with the Whimzees.  One because he doesn't tolerate potato and the other, I don't know, but it gave her diarrhea.  I've had no problems with the Get Naked dental chews but I only give them once every week or two.
