Normally, all coat questions go to Laurie, Fudge and Vern.  She is in charge of this area, but this is not about wavy, wooly, or fleecy.   This is Spud's NEW Coat.

For over five  years, I have admired Kyoko's creations and coats she has made for her dogs.

Kyoko is extremely talented and you can find a lot of her art work here on DK in the Arts Cafe. Make sure you check it out :)
Here is Pinot coat discussion

The photo of Pinot in his coat I saw last week.

Here is Charlie's Beautiful Pink Coat. The original creation that has won hearts for many years here on DK

We had been looking for a coat, but never found one that fits. Spud is short in length but very broad in the chest.  Commercial brands just did not fit.   There was always some doubt and I've passed them up.

Last week I saw Kyoko post her new creation for her newest dog, Pinot Grigio. I ooooooohed and ahhhhhh over his new coat.   Look what we got in the mail this week!!  Our own, one of a kind, especially made for Spud,  Kyoko Brand Coat!

Do any of you remember the shoes Red Ball Jets?  Do you remember when you put them on you came to life?   " You can run like the wind and jump like the giants" they claimed. They were made by Keds and I found this commercial.  I begged for these shoes even though my mother suggested I get another pair. Yep, this is how I remember it all but funny it seems I really never did jump any  higher even though I felt so good, at least at first, with my new shoes until I got blisters.

Anyway, I swear that is how Spud felt in his new coat. He knew he looked good as we hiked the other day.  He pranced, acted silly, and felt and knew he looked great. He really did look great. He ran like the wind and jumped like the giants. He liked it, he really liked it.  I wanted it to serve a purpose - the below zero temps for weeks on end, but he liked it for that and that Red Ball Jets Feeling.

Not only does it look great and fit perfectly, I also love the hood. Spud has really bad ears and this time of year, is when we have had ear problems begin.  I often thought of hats but how in the world ??  I never figured out how to get a hat that would protect his ears against the cold wind.  You would think he would not like the hat but ... He loved it too. Never fought it at all.  It felt good to get the cold off of those sensitive areas. How cool is this hat?  The coat has a turtle neck that folds up when needed.

Thank you, Debbie

Spud, you the the Doodle World's "top model"!   The coat is pretty cool too!  Love it!

He holds his head up and swaggers proudly along. We would love to  model all of Kyoko's creations

He's got the job!!!

OMD!  This is fabulous.  I didn't realize that Kyoko made these wonderful coats. What a lucky and stylish boy Spud is!  Love, love, love the hoodie idea.

Thanks!

It is fabulous.  The  hoodie well I wish I had one for my  head.  He really does like it and even catches balls with it  on. The hood never came off.  And for his ears, well this is priceless.

Love the cut, colour and how stunning Spud looks in his new coat. How very thoughtful of Kyoko!!

Thank you, BG.   We were blessed by Kyoko for sure. A complete surprise about her offer but I jumped and had him measured in 2 minutes!  LOL

What a beautiful coat. Wow, Kyoko! And Joanne, these are great photos of Spud and I love the Red Ball Jets analogy.

DJ,

We are showing our age then. You are the only one that commented on the Red Ball Jets analogy but I so remember that feeling and honestly, I could see that feeling in Spud too.

Thank you, DJ

OMD, that is so gorgeous! These photos make me so happy, Spud always makes me happy! Kyoko is so talented and so are you!
