Need a reco for a good quality walking lead/leash

Can someone recommend a good lead/leash for walking a 10 week old puppy? We bought a leash but he's too small for it right now - I like the idea of a lead that just slips over his neck, but want something really good. I bought one at Petco and I feel like it's strangling him. Any suggestions?

You may want to talk to your veterinarian. Here in my area, I was on strict orders not to walk my puppy until she had had all her shots and then 7-10 additional days due to the very high risk of Parvo in our area. She was about 17 weeks when she went on her first walk. We did lots of indoor exercise, puppy socialization classes and exercise/play dates with friends pets that I knew were healthy and up to date on all vaccinations.
