Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
This is my first discussion! My account just got approved this morning and I got right into it.
I have an 8 week old Goldendoodle that I brought home at 7 weeks old. She's perfect, very bouncy and intelligent (maybe, just maybe, stubborn) and the whole family enjoys her.
She did cry for first week or less at night, I assumed it was because she was going through a tough time being away from her littermates. I went to the vet a few days ago and was told shes in beautiful health head to toe, so any health concerns can be ruled out.
I can now sleep through the night because she doesn't wake me up as often but when I actually watch her try to go to sleep, she's very fidgety and tosses and turns like crazy! She'll assume one position, then whine and flop into another. Then she'll get real quiet- and do it again! Its totally reminiscent of me when I toss and turn at night.
Honestly, it's quite adorable. But I can't help but want to help her feel more comfortable. Does your doodle do this? Should I let her be? I'm buying her a big cushiony dog bed soon.
I attached a picture of her sleeping in one of her ridiculously cute positions just for the heck of it!

Typical! My Nala chews on everything except for the million toys we bought actually designed for chewing.
I feel much better knowing I'm not alone on this issue.
All puppies do that and it is her way of settling herself for sleep! Hold off on the big dog bed until she is more housebroken--unless it is very washable. Up until now, her siblings were her pillows---a big soft stuffed animal helps alot--they sleep on them all the time--or a snuggle puppy--has a heat pack and a heartbeat! lots of people love them for their new pups.
I second the snuggle puppy. Both of my dogs loved them.
Same here, LIbby would snuggle up with her stuffed animal our Breeder sent with her for months. She is adorable and welcome to the Doodle world!
OMD she's adorable. Congratulations! I'd try a snuggle puppy too.
ADORABLE!!!!
