Maggie's always been a grazer, never really going after a bowl of food. She's been eating Fromm Gold Puppy kibble from the beginning, but she's eating less and less and I'm starting to get worried. Lately she's barely been touching it. She has no other symptoms and seems as happy as can be. We don't feed her table scraps, but she does get treats now and then throughout the day.
Can any of you suggest a new food or something to add to her kibble?
Thanks,
Worried Mom

Unless you are Ned.  If you are Ned, then, " Please, oh please, leave me alone so I can munch in peace.  Oh, you came back to get something?  Then I will stare at you and NOT eat until you leave again.  Thank you very much."

Hi Nancy, That's hilarious. I guess doodles are like people... each one is unique and special.

LOL, I've tried sitting with Maggie and her food. She just starts climbing all over me and wants to play. Not the least bit interested in the food.

Time to join the training group, lol.

Thanks for posting that discussion, Cindy. It's perfect advice.

We watched lots of Doggy Dan videos and tried his feeding approach when we first brought Maggie home. We had limited success and that's why we ended up leaving the food bowl down. We would eat our breakfast first and then offer Maggie her food, but she just wasn't very interested. We both work and couldn't wait around for too long for her to eat.
I can give it another go, but there are times when our schedules are so hectic that her feeding times would vary pretty drastically. That doesn't seem very fair either. She's an only child, so she's probably pretty spoiled ;)
I'll take a look at the discussion you posted.
Thanks.
I hope you find your success, I know how worrying it is. I have to fight my mommy instinct (eat! mangia!!) in order to follow Doggy Dan's pick-it-up rule, but I think he has the dogs' best interests in mind. I don't wait around - I pick up pretty quickly. But yeah, if I were working on a hectic schedule without routine, I can see added stress there. I'm sure you'll work it out - best to Maggie :)

I had the same problem with DJ at about that same age.  I switched him to Wellness and also add 1/2 of a Stella & Chewy patty ground up in his food.  He is 13 months now and eats better.  Still never finishes it all but is a lot better.  These doods are finicky and my breeder said hers tend to be grazers.  I can't let him graze cause I have another dog in the house that is a little piggy and would eat whatever was left over LOL but he is doing much better with the Wellness and Stella & Chewy.

Peri, Where do you get Stella & Chewy's? Is that refrigerated?
Thanks

It's prepared raw food. You can check for store locations on their website. https://www.stellaandchewys.com/

Karen Glassman,  I get it at a local pet store called Mutts n Butts.  I wasn't able to find it at Petco or Petsmart.  No it does not have to be refrigerated.  I tried chewys.com but they didn't have it either.

Riley was like this until we got Boris. Ever since there has been no problem. :)
