Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello,
I asked this in another group, but I'd like to get more opinions. I bought an F2 Golden doodle.
I didn't research enough - I wanted a little wavy hair, but not straight. Now I understand the difference between F1 and F2. Ive had dogs since I was 7 but this is my the first time learning of F1, F1B, F2 etc..
My puppy is awfully cute and she is very nice girl and a smart. I am trying to figure out what her face and coat are going to turn out. I feel like its going to be straight but I think it might a little wavy? Maybe? LOL
I saw lots of pictures of F1 puppies with straight hair at an early age and then it grows into wavy hair. My puppy still has baby hair and I just noticed some of straight hair sticking out here there and am curious whether that straight hair will be her adult hair?
Or can I still have hope for a little wavy? Right now whenever people asked me if the dog is a golden retriever I just say yes..
Thank you

We have a few members who had goldendoodles that resembled the retriever side and I am guessing that is what she will look like too. She is darling, but based on her lack of facial furnishings (not much of a scruffy face) she will probably be smooth coated and look more like a retriever.
Hello Adina!
That's okay, but kind of sad too. But hopefully she won't shed much (I hope) since my younger son has allergies. We had a miniature poodle for the last 14 years and it was great with no fur in the house. She is cute though!
PS: Would anyone be willing to upload some pictures if you have F2 smooth coat please? I'd love to see examples. Google wasn't much help.
Thank you
Thank you DJ,
just need a better vacuum thought.. your dog is very cute, too.
Your little doodle is darling, but it is just hard to tell what the end results will be. I agree with the others though in that my guess is more retriever like. Chances are you will need a really great vacuum as well. I did a search on "F2 Smooth coat" and here are the discussions that came up. http://www.doodlekisses.com/page/search-results?q=F2+smooth+coat&am...
Pippa is not F2, she is a mini F1b but she looks like a tiny Golden. Your Doodle (is that his name?) is adorable but Im pretty sure he won't be fluffy and "doodly" like you were hoping for. Im sure you will love him anyway because he looks just precious! The picture below is Pippa at 4 months and the other two were taken recently at 11 months.
That is such a cute name! I call Daphne that sometimes just as a nickname.
