I have read a couple of books about puppies and just recently joined Doggy Dan's site, which I think is great by the way! I can't wait to get my puppy tomorrow!

What training philosophies do you use? How do you handle feeding your puppy or dog? For those of you who are familiar with Doggy Dan, Sophia Yin and Ian Dunbar which method did/do you use? They all sense to me. It is so confusing. I am leaning toward Doggy Dan because I can see how well what he is doing works. It's nice to have the videos to use too. It also seems like a pretty balanced approach.

I told you I am over the top! I feel like I should have read one book and stuck with that method. I never would have known the difference.

But that is so not me...

Shawn, I think we all read too many books and wind up confused LOL.  I was lucky. I found a wonderful trainer who helped reorient me to an approach similar to Doggy Dan (who's approach I really like). Doodle puppies are not always easy. They are so smart, active, and in at least one case I know, stubborn :)  But be consistent, confident, and patient with whatever approach you choose. I found that working on my body language and attitude was as important as working on commands. My experience is that these guys read you like a book, but when you work on the overall relationship you will find it so rewarding. Yesterday, I left the door to the deck open and our little cat was considering an escape.  I said, "Finn don't let Song go out" and he went over and put himself between Song and the door.  LOL he never learned that command!

Oh my gosh, I love it! What a smart dog. I love your pets' names too.
