I lived in Phoenix for 11 years and would always run into natives that had never been to the Grand Canyon. It was only a 3 hour drive. Isn't that crazy? Your pictures are beautiful!!!

Same here--I live close to Yosemite and know people here wh have never been to that beautiful place.

I live in NJ and have never been to Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Bldg and they are less than an hr away.

The colors of the Grand Canyon are intense when the light is right, such as sunset. In this image, the actual setting sun was block by canyon cliffs but the indirect light from the setting sun created a jewel toned effect. I took this photo shortly before dinner at our campsite and had to combine two exposures--one for the sky, and one for the cliffs nearest to the water and also the water itself.
