She may have diarrhea or an upset stomach later, but nothing she ate is toxic to dogs, as long as the tart contained real sugar and no artificial sweeteners. (Some artificial sweeteners are extremely toxic to dogs.) Be glad she chose the blueberries rather than the chocolate, as chocolate is toxic to dogs.
Amen. I hope she's fine. :)
LOL...our old Lab Hershey once ate an ENTIRE Peach Praline Pie. I was so mad. She didn't even have the decency to save me ONE slice :) That pie reappeared and in many ways the next few days, but she was eventually fine. It was also the first time (but not the last) that she counter surfed and she was not a puppy.
Laurie, this made me laugh! When my niece was in grade school she made a relief map of the world with some kind of flour/water g*** and poster paint. It was on the counter and fairly large but her big old Lab Godiva pulled it down ate the WHOLE thing … thankfully, with no bad effects!!!
We had a Lab who knocked down the kitchen closet door the night before Easter and ate all the candy in the Easter baskets. I was crying hysterically the next morning and sent Dave on a "candy run" at 7:00 AM while I tried to keep the kids in their rooms. It was horrible, but the dog was just fine and the kids never lost faith in the Easter Bunny.
Good thing she didn't choose the chocolate. I'd say Winnie is a very smart (and lucky) pup :)
Good advice for Karen. Hope she is okay. My dog will steal food if I given him the opportunity, and his reach onto the the kitchen counter for a little doodle is amazing.
