HOW DO YOU GET YOUR PHOTO INTO THE SHOW?

Good question! Spud's mom, Joanne, put together a great visual tutorial here: Slideshow HowTo

If you like visuals, use her tutorial.  Otherwise, try the instructions below...

1-- Upload your photo the main photo page.

2-- In the 'tag' section of the photo put in the tag that corresponds with the slide show theme (see list above).

It's quite easy, actually.  If you prefer to submit photos via your smart phone, be sure you put in the correct email address.  The email address should have "ning" somewhere in it.  If not, it won't make it here.

I know the slide before last my pictures didn't appear?  I haven't updated any since the wrestlemania which didn't post.  I'm not sure I understand what album they are supposed to appear in?  your personal or someplace else?

When you go to "view all" under the slideshow then there is a search bar about halfway down the page. Thats where you put the tag and can see all the photos that were tagged but My pics don't show under the tags I've added.

Anyone interested in taking this slide show under their wing? 
I'm considering dropping it after we've completed the last few assigned slide shows, but if someone LOVES it and would like to keep it alive and well, I'll gladly pass the torch.  The other option I've considered is instead of a slide show we can just do a weekly theme in the discussion forum and everyone can embed their photos...

I always forget to tag pics, I for one need a reminder email! Also, now that all my gadgets are Mac, I can't see the slideshow anymore. It is hard to be motivated to tag pics when I can't see the slideshow. When I had a PC I used to love to see the slideshow :)

I wish I could but don't have time. I think weekly is too often. What if you did only one slide show each month, up for a week only?

I do not have any idea of what it takes to manage the slide show...but I do love it.  Unlike the forum, you do not have to scroll through dozens of comments to see the next picture.  Please do not take this in the negative context, but the photography group is an example of what would happen if the slideshow is placed in the forum.  I understand people love getting comments on their pictures, and I also appreciate comments...but like I said the forum makes it difficult to "just" view the pictures.  I do not see any problem with leaving the slide show up for 2 weeks...a month is way too long.  If I can help let me know what I would have to do and I will let you know if I can manage it.

I love the slideshow too and would love to take over but like Joani, I have no idea what is involved. I am somewhat technically challenged but willing to learn?

Lori and others: here is what is potentially involved:

-- Coming up with the themes
-- Posting a discussion to announce the theme as often as you like (this would be your baby so advertise as frequently as you see fit
-- Coming up with the tags
-- Pulling all the photos into an album and giving it the appropriate title
-- Letting me know when it's all ready to go so I can put it on the front page

Its the "Pulling all the photos into an album and giving it the appropriate title" part that I don't know how to do. Would I have to load all the photos onto my computer first?

UPDATE: We will try something new for a bit.  A cross between a posted discussion with embedded photos and a slide show.
